i think its because america is largely a developed country that has the majority of its people with a high standard of living compared to those around the world. With this high standard comes a certain level of expectation as a consumer.

Customer service is an industry that is expanding because people want more options when it comes to services. Customers obviously have jobs or have had jobs at some point, otherwise they would not be customers. The ones who are irate are probably the ones who have jobs, but not jobs that require them to deal directly with customers. Which is why they tend to be irate, they don’t understand what it’s like to work in customer service.

in a country ruled by Capitalism and greed Customer Service is the only to annoy, irritate and get some money of out of the folks you sold stuff that they didn’t need and doesn’t work
