A short preview of a full length documentary on the 2008 Roots Festival. The Roots Festival is a one of a kind traveling music festival that happens every year in the North East region of India and has been captured for the very first time on film. In May 2008, for 26 days, International and Indian bands such as dub LFO (Israel), Too Late Lucy (UK), Raghu Dixit Project (Bangalore, India), Guru Rewben Mashangva (Ukhrul, Manipur) & Warklung (Karbi Anglong, Assam) as well as many local bands, performed to audiences of up to 20000 in 7 cities across 6 states in the Indian North-East. www.babblefish.in Dir Samira Kanwar The 80 minute documentary goes beyond the music, it explores the people, the cultures, the sheer diversity of such a region, a place where rhythm is in it’s Roots.
