Edinburgh Scottish Parliament Jewel & Esk College TV Work Placement Video New Politics & Debates
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Videos on February 9th, 2012

www.wcptv.biz In Spring, 2009 I had to source a work placement to complete a module for my HND Film & Television Production course which I completed at Jewel & Esk College in Edinburgh, Scotland and Eskbank between 2007 and 2009. I initially emailed local production companies, offering a variety of skills but really offering my help for three days in an attempt to gain a placement for my placements module to gain work experience. I was lucky enough to receive an invitation for shadowing the production team at the Edinburgh Scottish Parliament where I was able to observe the filming and editing process of their weekly holyrood highlights package which airs on the United Kingdom BBC on Thursday lunchtimes. My placement began with an introduction to the team where I was given a tour of the premises and from there on, shadowed some of the key personnel while they undertook their daily routine. One of the first areas was the main office where the production team work on the paperwork side of things such as writing questions for writing interviews and it operates as a main base for meeting up with people and is the main contact point for the production team. The second area was the kit store which was located somewhere within the Parliament. Here, all of the kit required to produce a professional filmed programme is kept and maintained by an equipment technician. Furthermore, they have a post production area where they use their Final Cut Pro and AVID systems. I managed to sit …

thefilmarchive.org DVD: www.amazon.com October 30, 1963 Jethro develops feelings for an exotic dancer named Chickadee, and brings her home to meet the folks. Sharon Marie Tate (January 24, 1943 — August 9, 1969) was an American actress. During the 1960s she played small television roles before appearing in several films. After receiving positive reviews for her comedic performances, she was hailed as one of Hollywood’s promising newcomers and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Valley of the Dolls (1967). She also appeared regularly in fashion magazines as a model and cover girl. Married to film director Roman Polanski in 1968, Tate was eight and a half months pregnant when she and her unborn child were murdered in her home, along with four others, by followers of Charles Manson. A decade after the murders, Tate’s mother, Doris, in response to the growing cult status of the killers and the possibility that any of them might be granted parole, organized a public campaign against what she considered shortcomings in the state’s corrections system. It resulted in amendments to the California criminal law in 1982, which allowed crime victims and their families to make victim impact statements during sentencing and at parole hearings. Doris Tate was the first person to make such an impact statement under the new law, when she spoke at the parole hearing of one of her daughter’s killers, Charles “Tex” Watson. She believed changes in the law had …

Nuremberg Trials Documentary Video: US Army Film Version (1950 WW2 Movie)
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Videos on January 27th, 2012
DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org Between 1945 and 1946, German officials involved in the Holocaust and other war crimes were brought before an international tribunal in the Nuremberg Trials. The Soviet Union had wanted these trials to take place in Berlin. However, Nuremberg was chosen as the site for the trials for specific reasons: The city had been the location of the Nazi Party’s Nuremberg rallies and the laws stripping Jews of their citizenship were passed there. There was symbolic value in making it the place of Nazi demise. The Palace of Justice was spacious and largely undamaged (one of the few that had remained largely intact despite extensive Allied bombing of Germany). The already large courtroom was reasonably easily expanded by the removal of the wall at the end opposite the bench, thereby incorporating the adjoining room. A large prison was also part of the complex. As a compromise, it was agreed that Berlin would become the permanent seat of the International Military Tribunal and that the first trial (several were planned) would take place in Nuremberg. Due to the Cold War, subsequent trials never took place. The same courtroom in Nuremberg was the venue of the Nuremberg Military Tribunals, organised by the United States as occupying power in the area. The Nuremberg Trials were a series of military tribunals, held by the main victorious Allied forces of World War II, most notable for the prosecution of prominent members of the political, military …
