I have orientation and training for a new job coming up. I’m unsure what exactly to wear on the first day. It’s an entry level position in a customer service call center, so nothing professional probably business casual.
Some things in my current wardrobe (though willing to buy one or two new pieces)
Shirts I tend to have more solid color (particularly with my three-quarter and sleeved shirts) and a few light weight prints (though all sleeveless or short sleeve). I also have a black long sleeve knit sweeter (lacy kind of knit) and a white short sleeve one (more solid knit) Pants I have black, brown (dress casual and suit), grey pin, and maroon (don’t where these often). I have a khaki just above the knee skort (which looks like a skirt) and a black just below the knee skirt which has a black on black lace like print. Shoes I have Sketcher “biker” flats black and brown, Sketcher tredds black, ankle length half inch heel black boots, calf length half inch heel boots black silver buckles, brown 1 inch block heel (bought to go with the brown suit pants), and black 1 inch heel dress shoes. My watches are nickle color with navy band and gold color with brown band. Jewelry I don’t really have much of a collection just a few basics in gold and silver.

If you want to keep it cute & casual, I suggest A nice colored blazer with a flowy shirt and maybe a formal looking necklace. You could also wear skinny jeans with some heels

A good cat food will not have corn, wheat, soy, or by products in it. A few good brands are Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul, Natural Balance, and Wellness.

I have a BA in Business Administration, 4.5 years of work experince which includes customer service, Office/Administrative Assistance, supervisory, cashier, internship, and tutoring.
I have been applying to administrative Assistance jobs, but want to know what else I can consider.

I’m a 31 year old guy. I tend to work customer service jobs here and there to get a check. I graduated from college (10 years ago)and can for the most part figure out certain things. The problem is that once I get on the job I can’t figure out concepts in training. And then when I start to take calls, I cannot figure out how to solve the problems. I can’t even figure out the scenario they are describing. And then i really can’t figure out how to help them or how to apply my training to the situation. Even foks that have their G.E.D. can manage their way through these situations but I cannot. BUT, the part I like the most is talking to people. I think I have a way with people. My supervisors say I am friendly and they try to keep me around because they say I am polite to customers and use friendly language (I don’t cuss!). I also try to be super thorough and honest while helping them. I also show up to work everyday and on time. What is wrong with me?

iT SOUNDS AS THOUGHT MAYBE YOU PANIC OR GET FLUSTERED IN A SITUATION OF HANDLEING SOMEONE ELSES PROBLEMS…I am 23 and have always had customer svc related position and love talking to people,but yet I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks….walking into stores and seeing people bothers me but yet I am fine talking 1 on 1 with people???
Maybe while your in training from now on start taking lots and lots of notes, to better prepare yourself….if you need help,ask question in training.This will help you out later on. Normally,I learn more with on the job training and not classroom experience, and it does take time…maybe your the same way????You leave training feeling as though you “know what your doing” but then get there and you go blank???I do this also. When you start a new job,dont hesitate to ask for help from co workers,bosses or whomever seems friendly and helpful… the biggest piece of advice I have ever recieved was that.. you dont know untill you ask….

Personally, I used Peachtree at a non-profit organization that I know could work for a consulting firm.

of jobs these days, for the past few years?
I’m talking places such as Grocery Stores, Fast-Food Places such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Carl’s Jr., etc. Retailers such as Target, Walmart, Home-Depot, Lowe’s, OSH, Kohl’s, overall, Retail stores, Retail places of all types.
Also Movie Theaters as well, in which you are just applying for an Usher position, as for Retail and Fast-Food, Entry-Level Service, Customer-Service jobs, Minimum-Wage, in which you are applying for a position just to back groceries, or stock merchandise, items in a store, or gather shopping-carts, cashier, etc.
Overall, why are even these type of employers very picky and choosy on who they hire? Is there just a lot more competition now than ever? is that why they are more picky?

Most employers want to hire the best people available for the position and right now there are a lot of unemployed, talented, educated and experienced people willing to take any job offered.

Try freelancing. There are plenty of services (like Freelancer) through which employers hire freelancers through the Internet. The potential jobs are data entry, programming, graphics design, marketing, customer service, transcription, writing, etc. Check it out.
