One of the world’s most popular film stars from the 1940s to the 1960s, Peck continued to play major film roles until the late 1970s. His notable performances include that of Atticus Finch in the 1962 film To Kill a Mockingbird, for which he won an Academy Award. President Lyndon Johnson honored Peck with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1969 for his lifetime humanitarian efforts. In 1999, the American Film Institute named Peck among the Greatest Male Stars of All Time, ranking at #12. He was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1983. Peck’s first film, Days of Glory, was released in 1944. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor five times, four of which came in his first five years of film acting: for The Keys of the Kingdom (1944), The Yearling (1946), Gentleman’s Agreement (1947), and Twelve O’Clock High (1949). The Keys of the Kingdom emphasized his stately presence. As the farmer Ezra “Penny” Baxter in The Yearling his good-humored warmth and affection toward the characters playing his son and wife confounded critics who had been insisting he was a lifeless performer. Q&A: Should the big three automakers go to oil companies for a handout?

Question by Emily K: Should the big three automakers go to oil companies for a handout?
Seems like a good idea, no? The oil companies owe a lot to the big three, and without them there, the oil companies would surely see a drop in demand and therefore, a drop in profit (well, a little bit). Anyway, I know it’s a far stretch, but any thoughts?

Answer by HIllbilly Yacht Club Member
I think the big three should go to the unions for a handout. It was the unions that put them in their current position anyway.

I want to integrate three companies on 3 networks into 1 network?

Question by krista: I want to integrate three companies on 3 networks into 1 network?
I am looking at taking three companies in multiple locations acrossed the US and creating 1 corporate office for all as well as 1 network for all. I am looking at win server 2008 r2. What hardware and software am I looking at to do this? What are the benefits or is this a crazy idea? Currently 1 company outsources their IT projects and network management responsibilities, another is running a linux based system, and the final one is running win 2003 and active directory based networks.

Best answer:

Answer by adp5302
I am not clear about your question or let me put it this way: I am not clear about your objectives. If you want connectivity between the 3 office locations, all you have to do is take Leased Lines/MPLS between the offices and you can access the 3 offices thro your own WAN (depending on the security you implement). If cost is a constraint you can still have your own ‘Pvivate WAN” over the Internet by establishing Site-to-Site VPNs between the 3 offices.

Over and above that if you want to implement uniform IT env across 3 offices (such as Win 2008, AD and all Windows clients) go ahead and do it. The server sizing depends on the number of clients/users in each office.

Beyound that I cannot guess what your intentions are. If you can clearly state your requirements I maybe able to help you.

What are three ways software companies could prevent people from pirating their software?

Question by Lucas G: What are three ways software companies could prevent people from pirating their software?
What are three ways software companies could prevent people from pirating their software?

Best answer:

Answer by oshi1974
There’s really no way to prevent pirating. Companies have tried some really hardcore methods of prevention tried and people have just broken open the code and cracked it.

Personally I think companies are going about it from the wrong direction. The popular method these days seems to be an online registration method that limits how many times you can install a program. I think that a better way would be to allow unlimited installs, but limit the number of computers it can be installed on.
