This sounds like another version of the old chain letter. I see them all the time and they are scams. Ignore them. You’ll just lose money. They are also illegal.

There are many small businesses out their that function without an established business plan…however you will run into major problems when your company grows and expands without an action plan. If you are starting up the business…take the time and write one up. If the business is already established it is never too late to create one. You can use software like business plan pro and complete it in a few weeks.

Why do employment gaps, resume gaps, matter so much to hiring-managers, employers, why do they give a crap?

Question by OCDSportsGuy: Why do employment gaps, resume gaps, matter so much to hiring-managers, employers, why do they give a crap?
about it? why are employers, hiring-managers, wary, reluctant or just have to question someone as to why have they been out of work for a long time? why do they want to know what the person has been doing during that time? especially if it is a minimum-wage entry-level service job, customer-service job in retail, fast-food, restaurant, etc., that pays 8 to 10 bucks an hour?
Why do these type of jobs have the highest, most intense amount of competition in order to get hired at?

Where do you live?
Do you live in a city where you can have a booth with your art on display and most of the people in your city will be at the same place you are at?
Showing your stuff is what gets you noticed and possibly get you a position in where you want to be.

The problem with making a career in arts is that you really have to be EXTREMELY good at it…there’s no room for second best. Being the best is what makes you money.

I was let go from my job. What do I say to potential employers when they want to know what happened?

Question by curiogirl84: I was let go from my job. What do I say to potential employers when they want to know what happened?
I worked in a customer service job for a month. I loved answering questions and helping people, and listening to their concerns.
However, it wasn’t the job for me. It also dealt with sales. I’m not a salesperson–I’m not aggressive/persistent enough.
I felt the products were not legitimate–they were for weight loss, “male enhancement,” and memory loss/depression.
My supervisor told me when she let me go I wasn’t meeting the minimum requirements for convincing people to keep the products, but if I wanted a reference, she’d be happy to give me one. This makes me think she liked me as a person, but felt I wasn’t cut out for the job.
My question is, how do I explain the situation to prospective employers without sounding negative? I hated the rude people who treated me like crap. If I’d known the job would be in sales, I would never have taken the position.
Also, what are my chances of being hired by someone else? Will they understand I wasn’t cut out for that? Thanks!

Personally, I would be totally upfront about the whole situation. Make it clear that you wish to work for a reputable company that is protective of it’s customers. Also make it clear that you would not of taken that job if you had been aware of what the products were. An employer that is looking for reliable, long term employees will hopefully respect your “honor”.
