Q&A: Why do business for sale not list their company name?

Question by Shawn778: Why do business for sale not list their company name?
I am interested in seeing what it will take to acquire a business that may be for sale in my area. However, I have noticed when I look online that they will be vague about the name of the company that they are selling. Is there a reason the company doesn’t list their name in the description of the company for sale?

You should contact a commercial REALTOR who will work with you in finding the kind of business for which you are looking. Very often a business owner wants to sell but will only reveal this fact under a strict confidentiality agreement signed by the prospective buyer.

These owners do not want to jeopardize their business by sending the wrong message to either their employees or their customers. It is common practice to keep locations, names and other sensitive information from competitors.

When you do find something that interests you take a due diligence period to confirm that everything that is being disclosed is correct. You will want to examine the sales volume, expenses, value of inventory and equipment. Additionally, you may want to know first hand what the lease agreement is and if it is renewable.

If you are purchasing real estate you will want an appraisal and confirmation that the building and land are correctly zoned and have no defects.

All of this is just for starters. If you are a novice then you need professional help by your REALTOR, attorneys, appraisers, accountants and so forth depending on the size and price of what you intend to buy. Do not skimp on what needs to be done or you will be kicking yourself later.

These kinds of ventures are not for sissies and you will have to spend some money before making any purchase.

Q&A: How do I go about getting a REAL list of companies who drop-ship their products?

Question by nsluyters@sbcglobal.net: How do I go about getting a REAL list of companies who drop-ship their products?
An online store is secondary to my primary service offering. There is an opportunity however to provide products to a niche market (college students) on my website. I think I could do well but I don’t want to have inventory.
Products to be carried are pens, pencils, calculators, flash drives, software etc…

There is an Ebay sourcing book by Lisa Suttora and Chris Malta. You can find it on ebay or Amazon. It addresses the REAL supplier issue you are concerned about and can be used by other on and off-line non-ebay businesses.

Has anyone make a decent amount of money by selling their artwork online?

Question by kindness: Has anyone make a decent amount of money by selling their artwork online?
Am 19 working at an part time job at old navy + a car and it sucks thinking about quitting, getting too crazy at the job.I want at least $ 500 coming in a month.Thinking about having 1 of those home business with the making money ads,and working with a calling center at home but not to shore.

Best answer:

Answer by tlw-artist
$ 500 a week is $ 6000 a year. . . and that would be unlikely unless you are an established artist with a strong client base. I sold about $ 2000 online in 2007 . . . but this year . . . 0! Income from art, especially for a beginner or an unknown artist, is not very promising right now. I know many successful artists who are taking other jobs to be able to afford to keep painting.

At 19 the best thing you can do for yourself is get some training and find a full-time job with some benefits, and save up to go to school.

Beware of the online jobs promising that you can make great money working from home. . . .they are more often than not scams. If you are beginning to hate your Old Navy job, you will loathe working a call-center job. Tough it out working for decent wages somewhere while you make plans for your future. It can take a few years to sort out, and in the meantime, teaching yourself to work, not spend it all but start saving, even $ 5-25 a paycheck, will establish good habits you will be thankful for in the future.

What are some companies that are willing to pay you for advertising their stuff on twitter?

Question by Danielle: What are some companies that are willing to pay you for advertising their stuff on twitter?
I’ve heard of people making money by advertising certain company items or what they want them to advertise on their twitter. I have over 2000 followers on twitter and I would like to find a company or business that would be willing to pay me if I were to advertise their items/clothing/makeup on twitter and then review them. I need a trustworthy and loyal business or company that would help me. Or some advice and ideal/similar things like this for me. Thank you SOOOOO much!!

Best answer:

Answer by Jake
There are countless affiliate programs out there that pay perhaps 4% to 15% of the sale price. Promoting products closely related to your twitter focus is most effective. I don’t know the specific strategies of twitter marketing or what links are not allowed.

Lots of new marketers discuss this stuff at Warriorforum.com

There’s a section of member written tutorials for sale on the subject, like:

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/682473-new-techniques-turn-twitter-into-5k-per-month-cash-machines.html

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/663722-free-warrior-special-offer-twitter-boost-cash-method-make-cash-before-holidays.html

Most typically a twitter account is only a small portion of a larger marketing campaign, linking people to your own site that has pre-sell articles linking to affiliate links may be more effective.

Q&A: What major car companies have their own finance companies?

Question by PINKY: What major car companies have their own finance companies?
Some major car companies use banks for financing which sucks because banks are so difficult to finance people.

Best answer:

Answer by Other Guy
Most major car companies have their own finance companies. GMAC used to be GM’s credit company until they sold it. However, they recently announced the acquisition of another finance company just for that purpose. I’m thinking through the major ones and I know I have seen credit arms for Ford, Chrysler, Toyota and Honda within the last 12 months. A car company will most likely default to their own finance companies so if a major car company is trying to get you financing, and they ended up at a bank, it probably means you were turned down by their own financing. Also, if you go to a dealer and try to buy a used car, that will most likely be bank financing because the major car company’s credit arm are for mostly new cars since they already made their money off the sale of the vehicle when it was new.

How we can classify companies according their size of business?

Question by Delaram: How we can classify companies according their size of business?
I need the classification of companies according to their size of business, thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by gloopy
Small, Medium, SME or Large.

These can be gauged by number of employees, assets and revenues. The most common way is to measure by employees, although the trend now is to gauge a size based on all three indicators. Small businesses sometimes have a sub-classification of cottage industries and micro enterprises. Think small town, mom n pop shops. SMES (small to medium enterprises) lump the small and medium businesses together in order to emphasize the difference from Large enterprises, which are usually multinationals or key players in the industry.

What custom drum companies make their own shells?

Question by ARDrumr: What custom drum companies make their own shells?
Which Custom drum companies (if any) build their custom kits with their own shells? All these new trendy companies like SJC just use Keller shells. I want a truly custom kit.

Best answer:

Answer by manicmedic99
I thought DW used to, but could be wrong.

The company that Really got my attention 30 yrs ago was called Dragon Drums. Neil Pert and similar rock star virtuosos rated them really highly.

Ever hear of or see a pic of North Drums? 70s ere company. The shells all looked like the bottom of a saxaphone, the way they flared out. The drummer for Yes had a kit.

Q&A: What happen if most of the students choose Business as their major?

Question by YANKEE: What happen if most of the students choose Business as their major?
My country is still poor and people are not happy and satisfy with the way they are living now. So most of highschool students like me want to become a rich business man or woman rather than other jobs without no clear reason or clear vision. So over 40% of the the students choose Business as their major every year. So what will happen?

Best answer:

Answer by Radioactive
It’s happening in the US aslo (perhaps not 40%).
They are not choosing degrees that are highly in demand that involve medicine, science, computers, engineering, etc.
Therefore business graduates are getting out of college and not finding jobs.
