If the sharks see an idea they like, they’ll fight each other for a stake in the business. For example, people may ask for 140 grand, in exchange for 20% of their company/product. The company includes the patent. The sharks will then haggle and make offers. If they see no profit in the business, or feel that it is not a good idea, they will say “I’m out”.
