What are some good, successful career choices that consist of traveling (not only to states)? Type of business, banking, agents, anything!? What type of career do you know that is a good career choice that allows you to go over seas and such. Anything in particular?

What are some good cashiering/customer service jobs? It feels like no one is hiring. Any suggestions?

Question by kerkergurl: What are some good cashiering/customer service jobs? It feels like no one is hiring. Any suggestions?
I have four years cashiering experience with some customer service skills; No crazy hours (nothing past 10pm) and I don’t want to be a barista

Home improvement stores are good if you don’t want to work past 10 – most of them close by 9 anyway.

Beware though, Lowe’s front end managers are weird about scheduling breaks and lunches. I used to get sent to lunch at 3:00 when I came in at 1:30, then they never wanted to give me 15-minute breaks in the evening. So I would frequently be stuck at the return desk until closing at 9:00.

How do i motivate my employees to perform better? What are some incentives for the improvement?

Question by The Delivery Doctor: How do i motivate my employees to perform better? What are some incentives for the improvement?
Some of my team members are struggling with meeting company metrics in performance. I work in a call center and we measure performance thru metrics (average handling time, talk time, and call work). I need to find some ways to inspire my employees to perform better. I also need ways to promote contests to build an awareness on teamwork. Once the performance has improved, I need to show ways to reward the agents. What do employees want as a reward(no monies), that would excite them enough to wanna peform better? If performance is not improved, the agents will be placed on disclipinary actions and this could hurt the efforts. I would like to avoid this if possible.

You sound like a great manager, who really cares about his/her people. Kudos!

As far as motivation goes, studies these days favor non-money rewards anyway. More break time, first choice of vacation days, cubicle by the window, casual attire days, etc. would be good.

What are some entry level jobs you can get at a newspaper or other kinds of publishers?

Question by Sheller: What are some entry level jobs you can get at a newspaper or other kinds of publishers?
I don’t have any real jounalistic education, but I have lots of experience in editing and revising essays, customer service, working with a team, and stuff like that. I currently work as a research writer, but it doesn’t pay very well (but can I use it to my advantage on a resume?) Are there receptionist jobs, various assistant jobs, copying? What can I reasonably expect?
I don’t think so Tim :)

That’s just a tad too entry level for my liking

Q&A: What are some good POS software for consignment business?

Question by Randall M: What are some good POS software for consignment business?
I am looking for a good POS software, but I would like it to also have other functions that help with inventory, scheduling and possibly even adding inventory to an online store. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Answer by QueryJ
I am most familiar with Intuit and Quickbooks POS but indirectly as an analyst rather than a small business owner. I directly use Quickbooks in my small business and study their solutions. I assisted a small business owner in restoring her computer inventory on her POS after a computer crash.

I am not an expert with POS, (by any means) but Intuit has a lot of community help and customer support.

What are some companies that are willing to pay you for advertising their stuff on twitter?

Question by Danielle: What are some companies that are willing to pay you for advertising their stuff on twitter?
I’ve heard of people making money by advertising certain company items or what they want them to advertise on their twitter. I have over 2000 followers on twitter and I would like to find a company or business that would be willing to pay me if I were to advertise their items/clothing/makeup on twitter and then review them. I need a trustworthy and loyal business or company that would help me. Or some advice and ideal/similar things like this for me. Thank you SOOOOO much!!

Best answer:

Answer by Jake
There are countless affiliate programs out there that pay perhaps 4% to 15% of the sale price. Promoting products closely related to your twitter focus is most effective. I don’t know the specific strategies of twitter marketing or what links are not allowed.

Lots of new marketers discuss this stuff at Warriorforum.com

There’s a section of member written tutorials for sale on the subject, like:

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/682473-new-techniques-turn-twitter-into-5k-per-month-cash-machines.html

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/663722-free-warrior-special-offer-twitter-boost-cash-method-make-cash-before-holidays.html

Most typically a twitter account is only a small portion of a larger marketing campaign, linking people to your own site that has pre-sell articles linking to affiliate links may be more effective.

What are some good tuition reimbursement jobs?

Question by BriBri: What are some good tuition reimbursement jobs?
My sister suggested that i should get a job that will allow or provides tutition reimburstments…what does that allow me to do or what does it do for me? Is there any jobs that provides this feature. My sister told me that cingular does it, especially the call centers.

Best answer:

Answer by cryingtree1979
i work at a call center (that happens to have cingular in it) and they reimburse after you work here for 6 months-so if you go to school around 3 months and at the end of the semester its your 6 months, you can give them your grades and theyll reimburse you whatever it is..until a year theyll only reimburse like $ 800 i think. but after 12 months i think they do like $ 1200 or $ 3000 or something…

i think a lot of places. i kno walgreens will pay for school if you agree to be a pharmacist for them. i guess you should inquire within. good luck.
