Question by Misa: What gifts or trinkets should I send to India from the US?
I work for an American company that has an office in Pune, India. My coworkers there are women, ages 26-36. What would be some fun trinkets or gifts I could send them from America that they would find special? I do not have a large budget so I am thinking along the lines of snacks, perfumes, bath items, etc. Please name specific brands that would be unusual or popular to come from America.

Alright so this is the deal, I work at a call center for Qwest. I work in a department where we call customers to review their orders and make sure they are correct, sounds easy but it’s tedious and nerve racking for me, and I dread coming into work. The thing is I get paid $ 9.50/hour and get 40 hours a week, sometimes more if overtime is available. Am I crazy to want to quit this job and go back to Albertsons as a cashier (still work there) and make $ 9.00/hr and barely get 40 hours a week, probably less because it’s the post Christmas season? The upside is that Albertsons is a union job, and when I hit my 1000 hours I will get a raise that will bring my pay up to $ 10.50/hr, should be in about 2 or 3 months, depending on what kind of hours I get. I want people’s opinions on this, especially people who have worked in a call center, preferably outbound, because I’m kind of at a loss of what to do right now. Any and all input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i recently quit a job i made bank at, but hated, and got a job making considerably less with less hours…but i love my new job.
and i have more time for other things now…and i am less stressed out and irritable.
so i say you do what you want, but it is never worth the money to work a job you dread going to.

No. And nothing can be SENT to your machine. For any such update to work your machine has to go to the correct website and ask if any are available and then ask to download them. For most such installs you would be asked if you want to allow the program to access the machine under the secure message window. If anything was allowed to be SENT to the machine it would leave the machine wide open to attack from anyone who wanted to.

I was putting for data entry, jobs, and call center job, and cashiering job, and no one is calling be back, getting very mad at this.. what should I do next?

I am not comfortable in night shift as I am very health consious. I want to work in BPO. I am working in BPO since 2.5 yrs with morning shift. Now I am looking to join some other company.

Well the best thing to do will be to tell them upfront about it. however if you cant do that, then there is no other option but as to prove them how good you are at the job and then put your demands at them..

After two 3.5 hour half days we are expected to take live calls for credit authorizations. Making credit decisions! Holy crap. I need the money but I am freaking out here. Usually when I go to a customer service job, they have a few weeks of training and you get to listen in on the calls of experienced reps. Not here. And I am the only guy in the training class who speaks decent english and I have to get paired up with a trainee that i cannot understand very well. I’m panicking!
Note: I don’t even know the proper information or rules and regulations on how to make these decisions.

The pay for the customer service job is 11 an hour, the pay for the corrections officer job is 31,000 in Wyoming. I heard the cost of living is kind of high there. What’s better?

Knowing your parameters is winning half the answer. The other half would be knowing your calling. Both Customer Service and Corrections Officer require both patience and passion. I am not an American so I could not relate to you about the cost of living. However, I am in the business of executive search in Singapore covering global markets across borders. Most of my successful senior level candidates follow their passion and the rest would come in place at its own time and place.

I passed my Batcher of Technology degree in year 2009. Now I am searching for a Job. I worked for 6 months in a BPO company. But I need a Job in IT company. So when I prepare a resume, whose details I should write as reference in my Resume? When I was studying my degree, the reference persons were our HOD and DEAN.

It can be your dentist (that you’ve known for at least 2 years), or your family doctor, or the manager, coworker or boss of your previous job, your teacher.
