Best answer:

Answer by Roger
Your best bet is connection. Do you know anyone who works there, or at another Verizon store, or even the store next door?

If not, try learning everything you can about the hiring manager. Look him up online, find out what his or her favorite hobbies, sports, baseball teams, etc. Use that as connection in your interview. When you can find the right “thing” it works like a charm.

Good luck.

Q&A: I am filling out a job application and it ask why do you want to work in a sales oriented environment?

Question by Rachael: I am filling out a job application and it ask why do you want to work in a sales oriented environment?
I am filling out a job application for Dollar General Market and the application ask why do you want to work in a sales oriented environment? I am thinking about writing because I like to work with people and keep the smiling. Does that answer sound to generic? The application also ask what customer service experience do I have. I have worked in retail before. Should I write that down or come up with something more original?

Best answer:

Answer by Kaite
You can say you love people and helping them and meeting new people and enjoy the challenge of dealing with the difficult ones and disarming them
Say you have worked in other customer service oriented positions before and you enjoyed it. Retail is customer service, also if you have ever voluteered before working with people or if you were involved with bake sales, garage sales etc. It is ok to list where you have worked.

Try having a conversation, try not to sound like a pitch script. Find something in common and then tell them why you are calling.
Add a personal element to the conversation. Speaking a little slower helps too.

Can you recommend a good book about increasing sales?

Question by blkdragonfli: Can you recommend a good book about increasing sales?
I’m working in a call center. I’m not really a sales person, but I love this job so far. I’d like to get better, though. Can anyone recommend a good book with sales tips and strategies for the beginner that I can read and practice from? Thanks a bunch?

PS
Audiobooks are a plus!

No book can make you a better sales person in a call centre. I have worked in a call centre for over 10 years and won the weekend away prizes several times. Call Centre work is a job you love or hate and you say you love it so that means you have the ability. There are 4 points in sales 1).who you are 2) who they company is 3)what you are selling- and 4) are they interested.- You have got to believe in what you are selling and know about the product. Never say its not a sales call because they know it is. It is a numbers game, the more you phone the better chance you have and your first call must be the same as your last call. In a call centre you never say I cant, you always say I will, always be pleasant on the phone, the days you are feeling fed up will be the days you get nothing,. You dont need a book to suceed i sales, you need to believe in yourself.

Q&A: What sounds better on resume, Customer Service Representative or Sales Representative?

Question by Kevin906: What sounds better on resume, Customer Service Representative or Sales Representative?
Soon to be college graduate looking for jobs in the Finance field… I hold a current job for over a year as a Customer Service or Sales Representative. Which sounds more appealing to the resume if looking to pursue a career as Financial Analyst or in that industry?

Best answer:

Answer by Steve
You need to put down the title that best describes your current job. A sales representative would develop new customers as well as working with existing customers. A customer service representative would work only with existing customers. Being a sales representative would probably be more difficult.

Does anyone know how to get an actual person on the phone with Bank of America regarding short sales?

Question by Stephanie L: Does anyone know how to get an actual person on the phone with Bank of America regarding short sales?
My husband and I are trying to buy a short sale. Everything was in order, except by time everything was ready to close, the lean release on the 2nd mortgage from bank of America had a date that had expired…we only need that same paper with a different date to close, but no one can get a hold of them. Our mortgage will expire after friday, so we are really desperate to get this letter!

Good luck! BofA is the worst company to deal with when it comes to short sales. They have their guidlines in place with 3 levels of negotiators and a BPO/Appraisal at level 2. Each level is 30-45 days and if something is misplaced or not turned in on time you have to start all over again. Now, with them being in second position it may not be so tough. The bad news is unless you have a borrowers authorization signed by the seller they can not speak to you and only to the listing agent or negotiator working on the short sale. At this point the negotiator/agent should have direct contact with a BofA representitive and they will be the only one able to speak with them. Why does your loan expire? Or does your rate lock expire? See if they can’t extend it. Worst case you have to change rates but rates have gone down over the past few weeks so it may be a blessing in disguise.
