Who else worked regular jobs and nothing related to a real career right after graduating from college?

Question by MyStEriOuS: Who else worked regular jobs and nothing related to a real career right after graduating from college?
I have a BS in Criminal justice and there are little to no entry level jobs in that area…especially b/c i have no experience.

It seems im going to just have to work at a bank or as a customer service rep.. =( Who else is going through a similar situation.??
Jason, your probably right..but from what i see every entry level job for criminal justice requires some type of experience be it internship..which i never did.

Why is it so hard to find any job right now? Any suggestions to where to look?

Question by butterfly: Why is it so hard to find any job right now? Any suggestions to where to look?
I know the economy is very bad right now. All I’m looking for is just any retail or customer service job. In the past month, I’ve applied to walmart, burger king, mcdonalds, oreilly parts, auto zone, hotels, advanced auto parts etc. I think you get the message. Not one has called me back. I don’t know what to do any help would be welcome.

Have you tried a temp agency? Sometimes they can help get those types of jobs. Also go online to your local unemployment office website. Good luck finding something.

Q&A: How to choose the right Accounting Software for my company?

Question by mawila: How to choose the right Accounting Software for my company?
Hi, I’m not quite familiar with accountings. I am trying to acquire an acc software for my medium size company. What criteria should I look for? and any good recommendations and reviews to share?

Thanks a lot. :)

Answer by Elodie
Hi there,

Actually you have a lot of criteria to think about.

According to me, you have to decide :

- if you want a local or an online solution. Do you want to be able to access your solution only on your office computers or from anywhere ?
- if you want an open-source or a proprietary solution,
- if you want to pay a price per user or a price for the global solution? How many users do you have?
- which accounting modules are absolutely necessary to you,
- if you only need an accounting solution or if you would like an ERP which covers all your business needs (in order to link each entity of your organization as well as clients linked to invoices linked to emails exchanges with CRM, etc); …
Many questions has to be asked before finding the right solution. The software I usually recommend is TioLive. It integrates many modules to manage the business, it is online and for free.

euronews right on – Help! My business is collapsing

www.euronews.com It is the hope of any business: achieving sustainable growth and confidence. But in these tough economic times it has become increasingly difficult to keep moving in the right direction. And for many entrepreneurs there is a real risk of their business collapsing, the threat of insolvency lingering in the background. States everywhere face the same dilemma. How should insolvency cases be treated? And what is the fairest way of protecting the interests of everyone involved? Some say business start-ups and shut-downs are part of the course in this age of free-market policies. And even the largest and most robust of economies are not immune. In Germany, for example, some 30000 businesses have been going bust every year since the global financial crisis began in 2007. In Berlin Right On met Sabine Reineke, a woman whose construction firm became insolvent last October, leaving unfinished jobs. But the failure was not due to a lack of business. All of the clients were in fact public bodies, some of whom failed to pay on time for commissioned projects. And a couple of sub-contractors may also now face difficulties. Sabine told euronews: “Some people may not be able to imagine what it means to be insolvent. For us as a company this has been an incredible blow. The business existed for nine years and, when you look at the work we did, you can see we did our job, and we did it well. “Actually, even now, I find it hard to understand, that we had to file for

Sindoora is surprised to see that the man is none other than her husband Aniket (Rajesh Balwani)! He tells her that Uma had informed him about everything. Aniket then gives Sindoora another surprise by bringing Bharat (Shyam Sharma), their son, but he runs to Sagar. Sindoora gets upset and Aniket reminds her that it is the result of fostering such intense hatred within her. Later, Aniket promises Vidya that he will not let anyone come in the way of her happiness. Aniket gives Uma his salary cheque for working overseas and Sindoora is shocked. On the other hand, Vidya cooks for Aniket for the first time, so he gives her a silver gift. Kartik whines to Mahua that he had looked after the companies so well but now he will have to hand them over to Aniket. Aniket comes to the room just then and mentions how business had dropped in his companies. Aniket promises to hand over the companies to Kartik the day he is truly deserving of it. Aniket gives Vidya a book containing the holy incantations, so she informs him that she is illiterate but he pacifies her by saying that he will read them to her. When he sees Vidya not going towards Sagar’s room, Uma tells him that Sindoora had assigned her the dingy room. Meanwhile, the sisters tell Sindoora that Vidya has already won over Aniket, and Aniket would convince Sagar to allow Vidya to stay in his room. Sindoora goes to Sagar’s room and convinces him not to allow Vidya in his room even if Aniket urges him to. She instigates Sagar

euronews right on – When holidays become horror days

www.euronews.com Millions of Europeans are making plans for their dream holidays, forking out large amounts of money in search of the perfect break. But what happens when those promises of paradise come to nothing? And things are far from what you expected or paid for? Sweden is one of the top countries when it comes to people booking package holidays. And it is there that 13 families recently won a case against a major travel company after a vacation to Egypt last summer turned sour. One of the complainants, Lena Samuelsson, told euronews how they booked a five-star hotel with a water park. But the difference between the dream and the reality was a shock, with the complex still under construction. A nearby hotel was offered, but the families say the standards were low: over-crowded, often no water and complaints of rats and bugs. Euronews reporter Seamus Kearney asked Lena: “Could you believe they were booking people into this hotel? Taking money from people and booking them in?” “No, it’s horrible,” replied Lena. “Disgusting.” “I mean you must have been really angry when you saw that?” “Yes, and I can really feel the feeling again when I see the pictures,” she said. The travel firm based in Sweden was forced to pay back 75 percent of what the families were charged. Lena, who lives in Stockholm, said: “When you look in the brochure everything looked so nice. This (our hotel) was looking so nice. But this wasn’t a real picture, it was a Photoshop picture. But you can

Can I find a job that is right for me?

Question by Jackalope37: Can I find a job that is right for me?
OK, here’s the situation. I just turned 38 and I have not really made much of myself professionally. I have a degree in art, but have never worked as an illustrator or graphic designer, which is what I want to do. Instead, I’ve been stuck in dead-end retail or customer service jobs (including a 12 year long stint as the night clerk at a truck stop motel) and I feel like I can’t make that leap or shift in reality to get me to a job where I at least don’t dread going to work each morning. I am happily married and have 2 children and I can’t afford to work entry level jobs that pay peanuts – I have a family to support.
I’m feeling kind of desperate and that there might not be any hope. Can I find that job that allows me to use the skills I have and enjoy it, or is it just a pipe dream?
