Harihareshwar is a town in Raigad district, in Maharashtra, India. It is surrounded by four hills named after lords Harihareshwar, Harshinachal, Bramhadri and Pushpadri. The river Savitri enters the Arabian Sea from the town of Harihareshwar. Towards the north of the town is the temple of Lord Harihareshwar, said to have been blessed by Lord Vishnu. Hence Harihareshwar is often referred to as Dev-ghar or “house of God”. Besides a major pilgrimage centre, Harihareshwar is a popular beach resort with two beaches, one to the north and the other to the south of the temple. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has a resort on the south beach. Harihareshwar, along with Shrivardhan and Diveagar Beach forms a popular weekend beach destination from Pune and Mumbai. Raigad Military School

RAIGAD MILITARY SCHOOL is located at ACHALOLI, about 5 kilometers away from MAHAD in District Raigad (Maharashtra). Raigad district is well known for it’s glorious tradition of providing the bulk of soldiers to the Armed Forces, right from the days of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In the year 1990, a group of freedom fighters, under the leadership of the late Nanasaheb Purohit and the present Chairman, Shri Prabhakar (Abasaheb) Kunte, took the initiative in establishing this school. The Maharashtra Govt. allotted 11 acres of land for this purpose. Later, the school acquired an additional 20 acres of land for it’s infrastructure including the School Building, the Hostel, the Mess, the Gym, the Staff Quarter and the Bungalows for the Commandant and Principal – Covering an area of 90000 Sq. ft.
