Question by : What companies have customer led product ideation programs?
I’m looking for companies who use people (like us!) to create their products. Companies that ask for consumer ideas to improve upon products and push new products in the market. Anyone have any examples or know of any companies?

How is a static software product classified as a business asset?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on April 1st, 2012
Question by Tony: How is a static software product classified as a business asset?
Company owns & markets an old software product. Was the first of its kind, fully home grown, no long term future. But will still sell decently for probably 3-5 years. Proprietary nature precludes re engineering, so is architecturally static. No true R&D possible, though can be improved in marginal ways, which clients like. So, exactly how would this product be classified as a business asset, from the perspective of management/accounting?

Because it belongs to the company. They own that and that’s what they make their money off of. It’s not something they owe.

Q&A: How do companies determine product weight for packaged foods?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on November 1st, 2011
Question by 2010: How do companies determine product weight for packaged foods?
Okay, dumb question. I bought a jar of sunflower seeds, they are in a glass jar and the weight on the label is 7.25oz. Do companies count the jar+product or just the product inside when figuring product weight? It does not seem like you get almost a 1/2 pound of seeds but then again, I may be wrong. Unfortunately, I do not have a food scale to test this myself.

Answer by Enrique
they get the weight of the jar, and just add 7.25oz of seeds.

Question by ewok1205: Which companies could theoretically ship a product to various countries?
I have to enter a competition at school (designing a product) where we have to show how much it would cost to ship around to various countries. Which companies would do it and how much might it cost? Bare in mind it’s a backpack! Thanks.

How do I get companies to advertise with product placement in my first feature film?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on October 16th, 2011
Question by lacastelli11: How do I get companies to advertise with product placement in my first feature film?
My production company is going to start shooting a movie this August. We have a low budget but we have very high expectations for the film and are confident it will go very far. How do I get companies like coca-cola, pepsi, etc., to advertise through our film? I really need help! Thanks!!!
Best answer:
Answer by Nichole
You tell them about your high expectations of the film and how it will benefit them. Be sure to approach companies the target the same market as your film will appeal to. That will be a selling point for you.
Also offer exclusives to one brand of each type of product. Example; Coca-Cola would not see the benefit in marketing their product in your film if you are also going to allow Pepsi the same right.
Your budget makes no difference because they will pay you to feature their product.

Hi All,
I am passionate about moving to software product development like developing products for Microsoft or Apple. I have a Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of industry experience in .NET. Can anyone suggest me my next steps to reach my goal? Will pursuing PhD in Software Engineering help me? Or should I go for MS in Software Engineering? What can I do?

Have a look at the various distributions of linux. Or maybe BETA programs, which you trial and get to play to test, and then based on results the final program is put together and marketed. have a look at ROSE online for an example. I can also think of the other way around:
Yellow dog linux cost until christmas, then it became free!
