Cross Platform Mobile App Development – Synerzip Webinar
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Videos on October 31st, 2012

Worldwide adoption of smart phones is growing rapidly and along with that growing even more rapidly is the proliferation of operating systems available on these smart phones. These mobile operating systems – including Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Symbian, webOS, and Windows Phone 7 – are evolving feverishly. In any given quarter you can have any one of them start appearing to gain ground on the others. This flux in mobile OS platforms is a real challenge for mobile application developers. Developers need to make decisions on how to develop software to minimize the need to re-write separate code for each of these platforms and then to have to maintain and evolve each of these code bases separately. With six major mobile platforms to cater to and increasing pressure to launch early to market, mobile application developers must adopt Cross Platform Mobile Application techniques. By adopting these techniques they can effectively reduce time-to-market, efficiently use their development resources, and reduce their delivery risks. In this session, Rohit Ghatol, mobile software architect, will introduce the topic of Cross Platform Mobile App Development. Specifically, he will discuss the following. • Pros and cons of different strategies for developing mobile applications. • Leading choices for cross platform mobile application development. While there are many frameworks for cross platform application development, we will discuss two leading frameworks namely PhoneGap and Titanium …

Plan To Work on an Offshore Oil Platform?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Videos on January 18th, 2012
zc.me Rigworker is the best choice for those seeking offshore jobs. They will create a custom resume cv for you, and host it as a web page — and these services are free. Additionally, they maintain a huge database of active job listings which you can search at any time; this service is free as well. You only pay when you find a job that interests you, or when you are satisfied with your resume cv and are ready for them to forward it to the 1200+ oil and offshore companies they work with. What is nice about Rigworker is that you can “try before you buy”, as most of their services are free of charge. Rigworker is probably the single best choice for entry level workers.

Answer by stoneboysteve
Ken,
Certainly the ability to program in the .net environment is increasingly desirable. Unfortunately there are a lot of people with the ability to program in the world. To distinguish yourself from these people you can specialize in a particular area, or take management classes such as an MBA. The money comes when you are able to apply knowledge in an area where your ability to program sets you apart, or being able to effectively manage teams on projects.
Good luck!

There are a host of companies trying to change the way enterprises communicate internally. One such company is Yammer, which broke away from the pack two and a half years ago as the winner of TechCrunch50. Since then, they’ve been working hard to change the way we communicate with one another in the workplace. “[Yammer] creates a private and secure enterprise social network — a social network just for the employees of a company,” explains David Sacks, Founder and CEO of Yammer. It “helps expose who in the company has hidden expertise, who is contributing the most and who other people go to for answers.” Unlike email or IM, Yammer creates a searchable database of conversations from which anyone in the company can benefit, not just those who were a part of the original discussion. Users can also use Yammer to create polls, post events and post questions. If a question has already been asked, the system will recognize this and immediately direct the user to the answer. Only current employees with an active company email address have access to the network, and the knowledge in the system remains long after employees have left the company. Interestingly, Sacks has found that the benefits of Yammer extend well beyond enriched internal communication. “Companies that use Yammer have employees that feel more engaged, they feel more connected to their coworkers, they feel more connected to the company’s mission,” says Sacks. “As a result, you have less employee turnover.” More info …
