Question by michael_lovin: Where can I get info on Call Center salaries in the Philippines?
( I am an American living in Cebu and might accept a job at a Call Center, if the salary is ok) by the way…. I am college educated and have 30+ years work experience…so I’m not a beginner)
Based on some of your answers..I need to add some details. My title would be Language Trainer ( the only person at this company in Cebu who has that job, not a rep.

Data on salaries are not easilly accessible as it has become a point of comparison for most most call centers in Cebu. It is also negotiable based on experience and since you’re a native speaker, that would be your biggest advantage.
Better yet, submit application online and negotiate salary when you get to the interview phase.

What is the average salary for a person in the Philippines? What do people earn monthly for jobs like hotel front desk, call center, bank teller, bank manager, ect?

You mean per day? it also depend on the Provence’s, coz her in bohol hotel front desk is 220pesos a day, bank teller is 500 pesos, bank manager is 10-15,000 pesos. but an ordinary worker is just 120 pesos.

if you mean the BPO company of NCO, they are located at the ABS-CBN compound. so from commonwealth, you can ride any jeep going to quezon ave and you can ask the driver to drop you off at examiner. although, i seem to remember that there are steel railings along quezon ave so i am not entirely sure that you can cross q.ave from there. but if you can, you just need to cross the street and walk along examiner until you get to ABS-CBN. or you can also ride a UP-Pantranco jeep with a signboard “Hi-way” or “MRT” that will usually drop passengers at Mcdo q.ave where you can also walk to ABS-CBN or ride a tricycle.

i am now working as Sales Representative and i am also a part time Computer Tech, I am Interested in applying as a call center agent but i dont really have a good communication skills, i don’t have the guts to apply in a call center companies coz i think they have high standard in hiring people.

It’s a good course, but in order to up your market value you should pass the CPA board exams.
Accountancy Graduate:
Career Path: Top Range Chief Controller/Chief Accountant (5 – 7 years exp) or Manager
As Bookkeeper: Starting min. to 10,0000
As BPO/Shared Service for Multinational company: 12-15k
CPA:
Career Path: Top Range: CFO/ Partner/ President
As External Auditor/Tax Associate: Starting 12000 to 13000
As BPO/Shared Service for Multinational Company: 12-15k (varies)
Australia/New Zealand (you need to take up some units to be a chartered accountant) : 80-100k (presuming you have 2-3 years exp)
Dubai/Qatar, etc: 90-100k (presuming you have 2-3 years exp)
Well, some countries are freeze-hiring now because of the recession.
Accountancy is also a good pre-law subject.
Pros: Sure jobs
All businesses need an accountant
Have different career paths: tax, external audit, management advisory services, accounting, financial analysts, internal audit
You can take further certifications to enhance your market value and knowledge: CIA, CFRM, CFA, CISA, CFE etc.
Cons: You’d probably work late during month-end if an accountant.
Work overnights during tax season if an external auditor.
Tough Competition
Need to be uptodate: accounting, tax and auditing standards often change every year or so

I wanted to apply a job that had good salary. My friend told me to just go to BPO, but I still need to know the requirements, so please tell me the requirements. DO I need to be a college graduate? or what?
P.S. I don’t want to go on abroad, cause I wanted to work on my home country.
