What is the best payroll software for a company with about 15 employees?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on March 15th, 2013
Question by CGH: What is the best payroll software for a company with about 15 employees?
What is user friendly, can be used with duplicate business checks/stubs attached and a non computer expert like myself could learn fairly quickly? We are currently handwriting all payroll, it is a very time consuming task. I’m looking for a way to set up a simple system where I simply plug in the weekly info and the software does the calculating. It’s very important that I can use this program in conjunction with the specific type business duplicate/top stub attached checks we use. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried asking your local bank? I know Bank of America has online Payroll where you plug in the numbers and they do it for you.

www.StockMarketFunding.com Unemployment & Non Farm Payroll Updates 2011. Unemployment falls to 9.0 pct., only 36K new jobs Economy adds 36K jobs in January, unemployment rate falls to 9 pct., lowest since April 2009 The unemployment rate dropped sharply last month to 9 percent, the lowest level in nearly two years. But the economy generated only 36000 net new jobs, the fewest in four months. The January report illustrates how job growth remains the economy’s weakest spot, even as other economic indicators point to a recovery that is strengthening.. Friday’s report offered a conflicting picture on hiring. Unemployment fell because the Labor Department’s household survey determined that more than a half-million people without jobs found work. The department conducts a separate survey of businesses, which showed tepid job creation. The two surveys sometimes diverge. Severe winter weather likely reduced the number of jobs created. Harsh snowstorms last month cut into construction employment, which fell by 32000, the most since May. In one bright spot, manufacturing added 49000 jobs, the most since August 1998. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below. WASHINGTON (AP) — Economic growth is gaining momentum, with factories busy and service firms expanding, but one critical area still lags job creation. The Labor Department will issue its January jobs report Friday, and economists are forecasting that it will show only …
How about a 90 day freeze in the Federal Payroll Tax for companies who agree not to lay off employees in 2009?

Question by Jaws67: How about a 90 day freeze in the Federal Payroll Tax for companies who agree not to lay off employees in 2009?
What if the Federal government gave companies a 90 exemption in paying payroll taxes if they agreed not to lay off any employees in 2009.
I would make an exemption for early retirement packages.
If people are working, the economy has a chance to rebound. The more people out of work the less spending, the harder it is for the economy to recover.

What tax rules apply to a US Citizen working in India for 6 months while being on US payroll?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on April 20th, 2010
My employer is sending me to India for 6 months. I will be traveling multiple countries during that time but will alway be returning to India (company-provided guesthouse). I will be given a daily per diem while away from US and all travel expenses will be paid for by the company.
At the end of 6 months, I will return to my home in California. During my stint in Asia, I will continue to maintain my home in CA and bear all related expenses.
Are there any issues that need to be considered from a taxation perspective from both US and Indian law? Is there a certain period beyond which my company cannot continue to pay me in US dollars into my US account and I must pay taxes in India?
If my company temporarily decides that it might be better to transfer me over as an Indian employee and pay me my US-equivalent salary in Rupees, does this make matters better or worse?
As a side-note, I am a PIO (Person of Indian Origin) card holder and so do not need a visa to enter India…
