Is there a published list somewhere of new companies? Like a government listing of new companies?

Question by redims81: Is there a published list somewhere of new companies? Like a government listing of new companies?
for a school project i need to identify and contact new manufacturing companies…”new ventures” or “start-ups” if you will. I know there are news articles and such about start ups, but I’m looking for an official listing of new manufacturing companies.
well who are these companies that provide it at a fee?
So i have to contact every city in Massachusetts to find out the new companies in the state? is there a more efficient way?

There really isn’t such a list. There are some companies that can provide such a list but they charge for the information.

How does shareholding pattern, marketcap change after listing subsidiary?

Question by Naveen V: How does shareholding pattern, marketcap change after listing subsidiary?
A publicly listed company say, A has a market cap of say, $ 30 billion. It has an unlisted subsidiary (100% stake) B whose marketcap as perceived by the market is $ 15 billion.
1) So is it fair to say that 50% of the shareprice of A comes from the value of B.?
Suppose the company B is a high growth company and A decides to list B separately. Suppose it wants to retain 50% stake. Remaining 50% is offered to the public.
2) Will it have to distribute the 50% stake that it owns as per the existing shareholding pattern of A? Isint that necessary considering that the reserves and surpluses of A over the years has been diverted as investment for B?

Best answer:

Answer by Serge M
Market capitalization is the total value of a company’s shares trading in the stock market. Therefore B does not have a market capitalization because its shares do not trade. It is possible, however, that the market perceives that 50 percent of A’s share price derives from its ownership of B.

How does A list B’s share? It can make an offer to sell 50 percent of its ownership of B in the market by listing those shares on an exchange. Those shares will fetch whatever price the market assigns to the shares, and A will receive the cash from the sale. The market price determined in the market for B now also determines the value of A’s share of B, which may be more or less than the value previously assigned to B indirectly through the market capitalization of A.

It is not clear what you mean by “as per existing shareholder pattern of A.” Nor is it necessarily the case that A’s surpluses were diverted to B. The value of B may have been earned by B through its operations. In any case, the market will determine the market capitalization of A and B after the divestiture.

Q&A: Is it better to place your position or your organization first when listing each job on your resume?

Question by Ubiquitous: Is it better to place your position or your organization first when listing each job on your resume?
I’ve placed the position over the company for years and have managed to find work without a lot of problem. I figure employers are more concerned about WHAT you did than WHERE you did it. Most employers will not recognize the companies listed on my resume so why highlight them? It’s me they’re considering hiring, not my former employers. Most of my colleagues’ resumes and other samples I’ve seen show organization, then position. Please provide a source if you agree or disagree.

Q&A: is it legal for companies to ban their employees from listing their place of employment?

Question by weirdguy0509: is it legal for companies to ban their employees from listing their place of employment?
My wife’s work just sent out a letter banning their personnel from listing the company as their “place of employment” on Facebook. Is that even legal? It’s something they’re doing on their own time and it’s not at all related to negative comments (like it’s not banning them from saying “ABC Company sucks!”, it’s literally just listing the company on their work history). For some reason, they are allowed to list it in Linked In. Thoughts?

No, but they can fire you for not doing it.

Looking for a reputable online work from home company or listing of companies?

Question by Anne: Looking for a reputable online work from home company or listing of companies?
I’m looking for a part time job to supplement my income. Interested in online work from home data entry type work. There are so many companies online that charge you to buy their starter package and what not. It’s so hard to know who’s legitimate and who’s not and i’m not laying out money for a kit. Any suggestions? thanks

Please don’t listen to these people saying they are ALL SCAMS. They are not ALL scams, just MOST of them are, LOL. I am a single mom of 2 girls who has tried over 15 opportunities in the course of 2 years so I have some great information for you on how to find a LEGIT way to work from home plus a list of top 10 work at home scams!

People are looking for work from home and the biggest problem is they don’t understand that there really are NO WORK AT HOME JOBS. You will not find hourly pay from home. You can look forever, you’ll never find it. The only way to earn an income from home is to find a legit home business.

Small home businesses have increased in the last 5 years by about 200%? People are really starting to realize that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. The best home businesses to start are those with a proven plan in place like Avon or Mary Kay however if you are like me, you are not interested in pushing products.

Legitimate small home businesses should have a small costs involved but be careful, all the scams will be charging too so know the business. Talk to a REAL person and ask questions. Less than $ 500 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $ 1000-$ 5000. If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are in the end.

After trying 15 things I now work about 20-25 hours per week for a well known and respected company with amazing credentials. This company actually helps keep Americans Safe and Secure by offering Medical and Dental plans at affordable rates that anyone can afford. We also have SecureNet which helps Americans Protect their children in a program called National Child ID in partnership with the FBI. We also help Americans get back on top of their finances with Foreclosure Avoidance, Debt Relief, Credit Repair and more. We have over 10 programs ranging from $ 15 to only $ 40 a month per household which help Americans save many and stay safe. Americans have saved over 1 BILLION dollars with these plans.

I started with this company 2.5 years ago and started making $ 500 a month within only a few months. That income has increased now to over $ 3000 a month which has been a blessing for my family. The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit, life insurance and a benefits package from day one.

There are NO products, NO hard selling or pushing, NO cold calling, NO home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me. I absolutely love working with them and I can’t believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone even though you’re at home.

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company’s credentials FAR SURPASSED any other home business I had ever seen. SOME of our NATIONAL partners and credentials are National Association of Dental Plans, Dunn and Bradstreet, Consumer Health Alliance, US Chamber of Commerce, Parent Magazine, US News and World Report, Dozens of Fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, Walmart and Lenscrafters and Time Magazine. We are even currently being featured on WeTV, Lifetime and Oxygen. Most important, to solidify our legitimacy you’ll feel the utmost comfort in knowing that we are partnered with the FBI.

Research the company at www.workathomeplus.net.

No matter what you decide at least check it out, request a interview to get more information and at a MINIMUM read this list of top 10 work at home scams so you can protect yourself!

3. Pyramid Schemes (this is NOT the same as Multi-Level Marketing MLM)
2. Chain Letters/Emails (“Make Money Fast”)

As for those of you who say…..”I want to work from home but I don’t want to have to pay for anything”. Well, that’s great! But it will never happen. Let’s be honest, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If it is a true honest home business you need to expect to pay. Mr. Walt Disney didn’t start the Disney empire “without paying for anything”. Neither did Mr. Sam Walton, owner of Wal-Mart.

Q&A: Does anyone know about one time fee real estate listing companies?

Question by Freedom: Does anyone know about one time fee real estate listing companies?
You pay, say, $ 299.00 and you go on the MLS listings and then if a real estate agent does sell it, you only pay 2%-3% . Are these reputable? They seem to be saving a lot of money, but the only thing is, if you find a buyer, then you do have to pay a lawyer to do the closing.

Best answer:

Answer by acermill
You get exactly what you pay for, and that is MLS exposure to other agents and possible buyers. Nothing else is included, such as yard signs, advertising, or real estate agent assistance. You’re basically ‘on your own’.

If you elect such an approach, it is advisable to get professional assistance when it comes to any offer or contract, since the agent for the buyer will NOT represent your interests. He will represent the buyer only. Unless you know full well what you are doing, you could end up with a contract which is not at all favorable for yourself.

Are there any good and honest eBay Listing Companies out there? Do I need one?

Question by Curious27: Are there any good and honest eBay Listing Companies out there? Do I need one?
I would like to sell a sophisticated phone system (13 extensions, router, etc.). Whie the system cost over $ 20,000 three years ago, I’d be delighted to get 25% of that today. Someone suggested selling it on eBay. I’m uncomfortable selling something like this on my own and am thinking of using an eBay Listing company. When I did research, however, many of these franchises seem to have problems with hidden fees, honesty, service, etc.

So, anyone advice out there? Are there alternatives to eBay? Are there any good companies that will help me sell on eBay or elsewhere?

Thanks.

P.S. Just to make it a bit more challenging, I’m looking for something in the West Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley area.

Best answer:

Answer by robbiecreations
If I were you, with an item of this much value, I would list it myself. It’s so easy to do – or you could place a classified ad in your local paper. If all you’re looking for is 25 percent of the value, try a pawnshop.
