Question by thiru m: which is best for my future life, business or job?
I was started software business with my 4 friends 2yrs back, we lost all money within 15months. I met fail in my business without confidence in my friends mind becoz this is partnership company know, all friends went back to their home and searching some other jobs. Still i was in confidence to do my business but right now i dont have investment and office setup to run again. I have 15 months experience in this field know so i dont wanna to leave this business. I expect earn my lost money from this same business itself. Am doing consulting business for software and bpo projects with my old contacts, but it wasn’t give me an expected income. I dissapointed to leave this field & would like to come up again. Anybody can suggest me my ambition was right or wrong, give me some ideas to do my consulting business effectively.

Only you can really tell what you want to do in your life, but it seems that entrepreneurship is really calling you
But ask yourself first, why did your first business fail? List down all the why’s and the lessons you’ve learned from the experience. What went wrong?
That way, the next time you decide to start a new business, you can try to avoid every wrong thing that resulted in the downfall of the first business.

Question by questioner: What can a fifty year old ex IT business executive do with his life after a layoff?
A friend of mine just turned fifty and lost his job last year. He was a Director of IT Operations at a software company but lost his job when new management came in and decided to make some changes.
Now 9 months later he has come to the realization that companies do not hire white middle aged men in Computer?IT jobs. He say the hand writing on the wall when he noticed that most of his old coworkers were being replaced by young Asian men and many of the jobs were being sent to India or China. Or they hired a jr immigrant on a H1 VISA.
What opportunities are out there for 50 year old men who use to be in IT/Computers. He has come to the realization after an aggressive job hunt that IT work is for immigrants and kids, not middle aged white men.
But he has been in IT all his life and has no other skills. He is running out of money after being out of work for nine months.
