This sounds like another version of the old chain letter. I see them all the time and they are scams. Ignore them. You’ll just lose money. They are also illegal.

Question by Jen: Job description has no company name or address. How to address them in cover letter?
Found a job on Craiglist that I am really interested in. But it simply does not list the company name or address or anything. It’s a Spa Receptionist at “High end Spa & Fitness Center in Downtown San Francisco”, and that’s all it says.
Is it right to email them and ask to whom I will be addressing?

This in case, I usually skip this part of the cover letter as there is really nothing for you to write. I’ll do my information at the top, the date, and then start with the “To whom it may concern.”
Good luck applying for the job!

Address the letter to the Personal Director of the company you want to apply to 1st paragraph: Say you are interested in the field you are applying for and then state your reasons why. 2nd paragraph: Admit you have no experience in this field but are willing to learn. List any life experience you may have that enhances your ability to do this job. Be sure to mention your education. 3rd paragraph: Thank them for taking the time to consider you for the job. List your contact information clearly so they can find you if they want to offer you the job. State that you will be looking forward to hearing from them. To Whom It May Concern:
Re: Character Reference – Jeremy Swanson
The purpose of this is to provide a character reference for Mr. Jeremy Swanson whom I have known as a classmate, roommate, and friend for a period of five years.
I first met Jeremy in our freshman year at Adirondack College. We were both studying a general arts program there and became acquainted through a number of common classes that we shared. By second year, we had become friends and decided to take an off-campus apartment together. We shared that living arrangement until we both graduated last year.
Accordingly, having gotten to know Jeremy so well over the past few years, I believe puts me in a position to provide you with a pretty accurate assessment of his character.
As a student, Jeremy was a hard-working and highly committed to his education. I believe that his excellent transcripts will attest to that fact. In addition, he was quite involved in a number of extra-curricular activities including the track and field team and the school newspaper. In fact, in his last two years he was Assistant Editor of the “Campus Inquirer.” Outgoing, and always willing to help someone out, Jeremy was very popular with his fellow students.
As a roommate, Jeremy was a great choice. He was very neat and tidy at all times and he liked things in the apartment to be kept orderly. He made a point of cleaning his own room and the common living areas on a regular basis. He socialized occasionally at home but was always respectful of my needs, and he and his guests kept the noise down and ended their activities at a reasonable hour.
As a friend, Jeremy Swanson is a standout. He is a loyal, honest, considerate, and supportive individual who has the ability to see and understand things from another person’s perspective. He is a great direct communicator and knows how to raise and discuss common living issues and problems in a non-threatening manner. He is hyper-sensitive and is always tuned into how another person might “feel” in a given situation. He likes to have fun too. During our years at school we maintained an ongoing friendly rivalry on the squash courts.
To tell the truth, I really can’t think of anything of consequence on the negative side of the personality ledger when it comes to Jeremy. All in all, I would have to say that Jeremy Swanson is a fine, well-balanced person with an abundance of positive qualities.
Sincerely,
Charles Farmington

What machine is the best to start a vinyl letter decor business?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on December 11th, 2012
Question by Dawn: What machine is the best to start a vinyl letter decor business?
We are looking to start a small outfit that specializes in vinyl lettering for home decor, automobile windows and later coroplast signage. What is a good machine to start with that links to a computer? I’ve looked into the Cricut, and think I should go another route. Similar companies are Wall Words and Uppercase Living. Thank you.
Best answer:
Answer by habsfan3375
The Cricut is overpriced and very limited in ability for what you want to do. (I owned a vinyl shop for 10 years and cringe whenever I see that informercial) Depending on your budget, you can get very affordable cutters / plotters on eBay for about $ 600.00. (Just search for “vinyl cutter” and you’ll get lots of results…some even come with software). If you want to do anything of substance, you’ll need at least a 24″ cutter.
Once you start making some money, re-invest it into a good machine such as a Roland and expect to pay a couple thousand. The cheap cutters won’t last very long, but they’ll get you started and with the high mark-up on vinyl products, you can buy a new machine easily within 3 – 6 months if you are a good salesperson.
One thing to note though, is to stay away from the vinyl “start-up package deals” on eBay that give you 5 – 10 multi-coloured rolls….98% of them are garbage. If you’re doing home decor, they’re “suitable”…..but cars / vans / trailers, you’ll need good stuff….so find a local vinyl supplier to deal with. Also, check out local building supply stores for Coroplast….they’re dirt cheap.
I always bought my accessories like blades, application solutions, squeeges, software etc. from eBay, vinyl from my supplier, exacto knives and such from the dollar store and Coroplast from the local hardware store.
Good luck…and remember to sell, sell, sell. Don’t let them tell you what they want……tell them what they need;-)

How effective is it to send out a resume & cover letter to companies cold without knowing if there is an jobs?

Question by zx1: How effective is it to send out a resume & cover letter to companies cold without knowing if there is an jobs?
A job or position may not be advertised. So, if you are sending out a resume & cover letter cold to select companies, how effective is this tactic? Addressing it to: Human Resources Manager.
Best answer:
Answer by ViciGuy
PLEASE! take a serious few minutes to reflect on this strategy. This will not be effective for one main reason.
The key to a job search is finding a MATCH. That is, a match between you (your skills, personality), a company, and a position. Sending your resume cold will be unspeakably inefficient – even IF your resume actually gets looked at, it will be looked at for less than 60 seconds, and even THEN there might not be any jobs there that you want. Please don’t waste your time.
There are tons of resources online to find jobs. Career sites like monster.com and careerbuilder.com are obvious starters, plus job sections on your local paper’s website.
I would make a list of the companies you’d like to work for, go to their websites’ Career sections and apply through those. Quick, easy, and you can see what positions they’re hiring for.

Is this a perfect letter? Can anyone please help me re draft for me?

The Security Commision requires public companies to disclose meaningful financial and other information to the world-wide and nationwide investing public, which provides a public source for all investors to use to judge for themselves if a company’s securities are a good investment. As a Public Listed Company, do not just advertise your financial results for the sake of advertising in the newspapers. You are duty bound to disclose to the world-wide investing public as well as those missed reading or seeing the notices from Public Companies published in various daily newspapers
It is practically impossible for the investing public to see the Notice Advertisements From Public Listed Companies published in various daily, weekly, monthly newspapers. There are many major news papers being published in which carry a substantial amount of Notice Advertisements From Public Listed Companies. Even if one procures all the news papers on regular basis, one may not be able to ensure that he/she has seen all the Notices From Public Listed Companies : Financial Statements( Quately, Half- Yearly, Annually), Balance Sheet/ AGM, EGM/ Divident Payments/ Book Closures/ Prospectuses and Companies news.
BENEFITS OF PUBLISHING NOTICES ONLINE
Research shows public listed companies have been paying for a very expensive advertising to publish their Financial Statements( Quately, Half- Yearly, Annually), Balance Sheet/ AGM, EGM/ Divident Payments/ Book Closures/ Prospectuses in newspapers to nationwide public who probably were never out there to see these very important notices. Many notice ads appear in a single issue of a newspaper and the potential for any one’s notice Ad to capture reader attention is minimal. The readers may not read the section advertised in, or readers may simply have skipped the page because it contained little or nothing else of their interest.
In view of the above difficulty, an Enterprise have undertaken this online commerce project to compile all the Notice Advertisements From Public Listed Companies in an easily searchable online database and made available for the worldwide and nationwide investing public who missed reading or seeing the notices from Public Companies published in various daily newspapers. This website provides access to active & archived notices of Financial Statements( Quately, Half- Yearly, Annually), Balance Sheet/ AGM, EGM/ Divident Payments/ Book Closures/ Prospectuses

How should I write this letter about moving our office?
Posted by PuneStuff in Pune Stuff Questions & Answers on November 26th, 2011
Question by Krystle G: How should I write this letter about moving our office?
My company is moving our office across town and I need to write a letter to all of our previos customers. First off, what should I all include? Second, I do not have all the customers in a database or anything, so to save my from typing each customer an individually address letter, would it be appropriate to make a sort or memo or flyer? I still want it to be professional.
Best answer:
Answer by becky m
I think it would be perfectly fine to put up some memo’s around your store with something a long the lines “As of (The Date) our office will be moving to (the address)” Or you can add more depending upon what you’re comfortable with.
