Water lily/Nymphaeaceae is a family of flowering plants. Members of this family are commonly called water lilies and live in freshwater areas in temperate and tropical climates around the world. The family contains eight genera. There are about 70 species of water lilies around the world. The genus Nymphaea contains about 35 species across the Northern Hemisphere. The genus Victoria contains two species of giant water lilies and can be found in South America. Water lilies are rooted in soil in bodies of water, with leaves and flowers floating on the water surface. The leaves are round, with a radial notch in Nymphaea and Nuphar, but fully circular in Victoria. Water lilies are divided into two main categories: hardy and tropical. Hardy water lilies bloom only during the day, but tropical water lilies can bloom either during the day or at night, and are the only group to contain blue-flowered plants. Zingiber neesanum/diwakarianum else known as Neesam Ginger is a tuberous herb, growing to 1 m tall which belongs to family Zingiberaceae (Ginger family). Tubers lie horizontally. Leafy stem is red, and covered with velvety hairs. Stalkless green leaves, 12-30 cm long, are lance-like, pointed and smooth. Flowers occur in long cylindrical spikes, 15-30 cm long. Flowers are yellow, with 3 petals. The lip is yellow with purple lines. Bracts are 3 cm long, obovate, sharp-tipped, reddish. A fifth person has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of an Indian student who was shot in the head at close range. Anuj Bidve, 23, was attacked as he walked through Salford with friends in the early hours of Boxing Day. Greater Manchester Police said a 20-year-old man was arrested earlier today. A 16-year-old boy, two youths aged 17 and a 19-year-old man remain in custody. Police have been granted extra time to question three of them. Mr Bidve’s family have asked that the British authorities return his body home to Pune in India as soon as possible.Relatives are thought to be planning to fly to Manchester in the next few days. A spokesman for the Indian High Commission said officers had visited Manchester for talks with the police and the body would be released for repatriation when the “investigation requirements” were completed. The student was in a group of nine male and female Indian students visiting the city for a short break over Christmas. Anuj was a loving son, a super caring brother and first and forever a friend for many. Family of victim Anuj Bidve Police said they had not been drinking and were walking from their hotel towards the city centre when they became aware of two men on the other side of the street. The gunman, a white male in his 20s who was wearing a grey top, walked across the road and tried to engage the victim in a short conversation before producing the gun.
