Answer by Irish Girl
Whomsoever it may concern,
It has been (time period) years since I have known (your friend’s name) as a close friend and a fine colleague at work. I was first introduced to (your friend’s name), when I joined (company name), where he/she was working as a (designation in the company). I am writing this reference letter with regard to his application for (mention the name of the position and the company/university).
(Friend’s name) is one of the most disciplined and punctual people I’ve ever known. His/her ability to work efficiently under stressful conditions and nerve-wrecking deadlines speaks volumes about his/her hard work, determination and his composed demeanor. During the project (insert name of the project) he/she has worked as a project leader and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and team spirit while working with a team of (number of) employees. In general (Name of your friend) is a compassionate and hardworking human being with perseverance and ambition. I think he is a deserving candidate for (university program /company’s post) and would be a great value addition to your organization. I strongly recommend (Friend’s name) and am available for any further details you wish to know about him/her.

Re: Character Reference – Jeremy Swanson
The purpose of this is to provide a character reference for Mr. Jeremy Swanson whom I have known as a classmate, roommate, and friend for a period of five years.
I first met Jeremy in our freshman year at Adirondack College. We were both studying a general arts program there and became acquainted through a number of common classes that we shared. By second year, we had become friends and decided to take an off-campus apartment together. We shared that living arrangement until we both graduated last year.
Accordingly, having gotten to know Jeremy so well over the past few years, I believe puts me in a position to provide you with a pretty accurate assessment of his character.
As a student, Jeremy was a hard-working and highly committed to his education. I believe that his excellent transcripts will attest to that fact. In addition, he was quite involved in a number of extra-curricular activities including the track and field team and the school newspaper. In fact, in his last two years he was Assistant Editor of the “Campus Inquirer.” Outgoing, and always willing to help someone out, Jeremy was very popular with his fellow students.
As a roommate, Jeremy was a great choice. He was very neat and tidy at all times and he liked things in the apartment to be kept orderly. He made a point of cleaning his own room and the common living areas on a regular basis. He socialized occasionally at home but was always respectful of my needs, and he and his guests kept the noise down and ended their activities at a reasonable hour.
As a friend, Jeremy Swanson is a standout. He is a loyal, honest, considerate, and supportive individual who has the ability to see and understand things from another person’s perspective. He is a great direct communicator and knows how to raise and discuss common living issues and problems in a non-threatening manner. He is hyper-sensitive and is always tuned into how another person might “feel” in a given situation. He likes to have fun too. During our years at school we maintained an ongoing friendly rivalry on the squash courts.
To tell the truth, I really can’t think of anything of consequence on the negative side of the personality ledger when it comes to Jeremy. All in all, I would have to say that Jeremy Swanson is a fine, well-balanced person with an abundance of positive qualities.

Q&A: Hi Friends, This is regarding my job. I worked for a bpo with 1 year and 3 months experiences.?
Question by Kool S: Hi Friends, This is regarding my job. I worked for a bpo with 1 year and 3 months experiences.?
For some time now i am not feeling well. I consulted a doctor and he told need to have the bed rest for a month due to my personal health issues. My company needs one month notification for a resignation. But i wrote my resignation stating two weeks notifications due to illness. I do willing to produce my doctor certificate in this course. I want to know , whether the company can consider my issue or not? Is there any rule for this case from government employment polices. Is it they can pay me My other benefits , PF etc …
Answer by Oracle
I don’t understand your question(s). Are you asking whether your notice is sufficient under the special circumstances? Or are you asking whether your company is obligated to pay you for your sick leave and/or other unused benefits? Also, if you’re sick, why do you feel that you have to give your resignation? Most companies have disability and sick leave for just this purpose. Speaking with you HR department is the only way to answer your questions about your company’s policy.

Question by Minami: Why is it so hard to make real friends?
I’ve always had problems socializing with people and making friends. There’s just something that seem to drive people away and I don’t know what it is. I’ve always kept tabs on my appearances, I keep my clothes washed clean, they’re fashionably acceptable (designer jeans and T-shirts), I keep myself shaven and clean, I keep my personality open-minded, kind, and nice. When people ask for directions I always volunteer to show them the way. When people/”friends”/family members ask for favors I’m first to volunteer. My face isn’t ugly, I’m not overweight at all. Yet people always seem to just run away from me or act very stoic. My vocal cords are very weak now because often I wouldn’t have to speak a single word days on end.
For example, in high school every time I tried to make new friends (I moved before going into high school so I had no friends going there) people would, literally, run away from me when I try to talk to them, preferring to stay in their little cliques. So I lived through high school without anyone knowing who I was (e.g. during high school graduation no one applauded for me, I was the only guy who got this treatment, it felt really embarrassing). I spent all my free time alone and at home. I managed to get a few people to be somewhat like friends. It’s more like they were using me for their benefits though, borrowing money and copying off homework. Their friends, who I tried to hang out with, would often tell me to get lost and go away.
In University (where I am now) people are more accepting, but they generally act very stoic. For example, if I talk to them outside of school work or something I wouldn’t get any replies. It seemed like they were more interested in me helping their school work than really being a friend. And once the semester or course we share together was over, they would usually just disappear completely. We pass by each other and I say Hi to them, they just walk away pretending not to know me.
I’ve been in a few jobs, but all my jobs there were almost no one close to me in age (everyone has children or grandchildren). I guess I was sort of blessed not having to work at something like McDees, and instead I worked at stuff like internships at some organizations, or a contract job with software company. It’s very awkward to try to socialize with someone the age of my parents.
I’m about to graduate soon and I still have no friends (and definitely no girlfriend). It’s becoming more and more of a reality that I will live the rest of my life alone since I have no siblings, and after my parents are gone all I’ll have is myself. I’m pretty scared, what can I do? I really want to have friends and possibly eventually a girlfriend. I feel like the nice guys in the movies who everyone always tramples on, but unlike a movie there’s no happy ending.
