Q&A: I want to start 2 companies. I need to know which company to start first?

Question by Danielle G: I want to start 2 companies. I need to know which company to start first?
I’m starting a production company. I want to start another company under it for additional services that will be offered. Do I have to start the ‘larger’ company first? Or can I start the smaller one first to generate some income? Then once I get the larger company started, put the smaller one under it? Like an umbrella corp?

You can do anything you want. Another way to accomplish the same thing is to form three companies:
“A” is the holding company.
“B” is the production company.
“C” is the ancillary services company.
“B” and “C” are wholly owned subsidiaries of “A”, but “B” and “C” are what are called “brother-sister corporations”.
(This is a common practice of business enterpises that own several similar companies, such as, nursing homes. All of the nursing homes are independent of each other, but are owned by a holding company.)

What is the best type of outfit to wear on the first day on a new job?

Question by Cole: What is the best type of outfit to wear on the first day on a new job?
I have orientation and training for a new job coming up. I’m unsure what exactly to wear on the first day. It’s an entry level position in a customer service call center, so nothing professional probably business casual.
Some things in my current wardrobe (though willing to buy one or two new pieces)
Shirts I tend to have more solid color (particularly with my three-quarter and sleeved shirts) and a few light weight prints (though all sleeveless or short sleeve). I also have a black long sleeve knit sweeter (lacy kind of knit) and a white short sleeve one (more solid knit) Pants I have black, brown (dress casual and suit), grey pin, and maroon (don’t where these often). I have a khaki just above the knee skort (which looks like a skirt) and a black just below the knee skirt which has a black on black lace like print. Shoes I have Sketcher “biker” flats black and brown, Sketcher tredds black, ankle length half inch heel black boots, calf length half inch heel boots black silver buckles, brown 1 inch block heel (bought to go with the brown suit pants), and black 1 inch heel dress shoes. My watches are nickle color with navy band and gold color with brown band. Jewelry I don’t really have much of a collection just a few basics in gold and silver.

If you want to keep it cute & casual, I suggest A nice colored blazer with a flowy shirt and maybe a formal looking necklace. You could also wear skinny jeans with some heels

I got a negative evaluation at my job when I first started. Will this hinder me from promoting?

Question by g: I got a negative evaluation at my job when I first started. Will this hinder me from promoting?
I hated the job (worked in a call center), the commute was horrible, and I had a lot of personal issues going on. However, they transferred me and the work is much better and suited toward more of my personality. My evaluation has been rated above average and the like now. However, if I ever want to promote, will my earlier negative evaluations hinder me from ever working my way up?

Screen Guild Theater: First Love / Desert Song / Joy of Living

First Love Shirley Temple, Peter Lawford, Arthur Treacher Desert Song Dennis Morgan, Francia White, Bruce Cabot Joy of Living Louise Allbritton, Robert Young Robert George Young (February 22, 1907 — July 21, 1998) was an American television, film, and radio actor, best known for his leading roles as Jim Anderson, the father character in Father Knows Best (NBC and then CBS), and the physician Marcus Welby in Marcus Welby, MD (ABC). Young appeared in over 100 films between 1931 and 1952. After appearing on stage, Young was signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and, in spite of having a “tier B” status, he co-starred with some of the studio’s most illustrious actresses, such as Margaret Sullavan, Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Helen Hayes, Luise Rainer, and Helen Twelvetrees. Yet, most of his assignments consisted of B movies, also known as “programmers”, which required two to three weeks of shooting (considered very brief shooting periods at the time). Actors who were relegated to such a hectic schedule appeared, as Young did, in some six to eight movies per year. As an MGM contract player, Young was resigned to the fate of most of his colleagues—to accept any film assigned to him or risk being placed on suspension—and many actors on suspension were prohibited from earning a salary from any endeavor at all (even those unrelated to the film industry). In 1936, MGM summarily loaned Young to Gaumont British for two films; the first was directed by Alfred Hitchcock with the other co …

Flynn was an overnight sensation in his first starring role,[16] Captain Blood (1935). Quickly typecast as a swashbuckler, he followed it with The Charge of the Light Brigade (1936). After his appearance as Miles Hendon in The Prince and the Pauper (1937), he was cast in his most celebrated role as Robin Hood in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), his first film in Technicolor. Words at War: Love at First Flight / Malta Spitfire / Dynamite Cargo

The Siege of Malta was a military campaign in the Mediterranean Theatre of the Second World War. From 1940-1942, the fight for the control of the strategically important island of Malta pitted the air forces and navies of Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany against the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy. The opening of a new front in North Africa in mid-1940 increased Malta’s already considerable value. British air and sea forces based on the island could attack Axis ships transporting vital supplies and reinforcements from Europe. Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, in command of Axis forces in North Africa, recognised its importance quickly. In May 1941, he warned that “Without Malta the Axis will end by losing control of North Africa”.[1] The Axis resolved to bomb, or starve Malta into submission by attacking its ports, towns, cities and Allied shipping supplying the island. Malta was one of the most intensively bombed areas during the war. The Luftwaffe (German Air Force) and the Italian Regia Aeronautica (Italian Royal Air Force) flew a total of 3000 bombing raids over a period of two years in an effort to destroy RAF defences and the ports.[10] Success would have made possible a combined German—Italian amphibious landing (Operation Herkules) supported by German airborne forces (Fallschirmjäger) (citation needed). It was never carried out. In the end, Allied convoys were able to supply and reinforce Malta, while the RAF defended its airspace, though at great cost in material and …
