Question by burgermeister: Need advice on finding a part time job during the evenings.?
I currently am empoyed at a Call Center for a big banking company but they are making changes and are discontinuing our department. I am also 5 months pregnant and stressing out big! I work graveyard shift which I prefer but ever since I found out, I haven’t been able to sleep and keep searching the internet. Does anyone have advice as to what I should do? Where to look? It’s tough but I’m thinking a home based job.

They have some home-based telemarketer jobs. Perhaps you could look into that?

I am moving to Albuquerque, NM, in 6 weeks and would definitely like to have a job lined up and ready to begin as soon as I arrive. I’ve been going through the internet job sites (Monster, Career Builder, etc.) but of course all the postings need to be filled sooner that my 6 week time frame. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am in the customer service/ retail field.

Why is it so hard to get a Job in the call center which I like so much . I have 6mos experience in working in the a call center . As a Medical Billing & Coding, what I did was shedule the correct diagnosis to get the patient approve for surgry. alway 30mins early answer all calls on the first ring never had any complaints about my work from callers Doctors and Nurses. Its just oneday my boss came in one morning with chip on her shoulder with everybody.waited until I got off from work call me on my cell and said I was no longer with the company, Due to speaking loud to an another associate that was it. Will I be able to get another job in the call center . Please help, Female Peaches

Don’t work in call centres!
A huge proportion of call centre staff are depressed and some suicidal. Call centres put pressure on you, like no other job would.
Get a good and fun job that excites you! Your experience can be transferred into something else like working for Medicare in a customer service role (face to face), doing administration at a surgery, or as a receptionist.
Don’t stagnate in a call centre. Take control of your life and be something great

I have worked temp jobs from the year 2000 to currently. And I am having a very hard time finding something I really like which is office work. Temp agency will not find me work where I can use my computer skills, they always put me in the customer service jobs. And permanent employers act like they dont want to hire me because of no stable work history. What can I do? I’ve tried everthing. From using famous coverletter and making my resume look professional. The Business School I went to helped me with the coverletters and resume set up. Now what can I do to find my Ideal job in life? I need some good advice on what to do next.

Keep trying. Really, that is the only advice I can offer you. I had the same problem, but mine was more because I bounced around from job to job due to being unhappy with them. Now, I am a office manager of a small company. I’ve been here a year, and I absolutely love it. I can come to work how I want, I’m allowed to be myself, and it’s just a great place to work.

The title says it all. It seems to me that finding a call center job or 411 job is the most difficult job to find on the internet. I have searched and searched and have come across too many dead ends. If anybody lives in the Northern Virginia area, or the metro, please let me know where I can find a job like this around this area, I am positive a job like this exist around here, I just need to know where to find it.

I to have been trying to find a 411 call center job around my area here in Central Florida but have had no luck. I use to work at one that was 10 mins down the road from where I live, at the time it was Sprint now known as Century Link. I just called to see if I could get my job back there but they have closed down and so has the other one in Rocky Mountain,NC. There are still some 411 call center jobs in the U.S. but they are very hard to find. The internet doesn’t seem to help me much either when trying to find this type of job. All I know to tell you is to keep searching everywhere you can to try and find one or maybe contact your local workforce center, they can sometimes help find the type of job you’re looking for.

Hey, I need some help finding a software (online database) program that can include Customer Managment, Comunications (Similar to Facebook/Inter Person but within company), and Invoices as well as incorperating a billing feature for a company which has 3 offices interconnected but about 500 km away. Example:
Company employee is away from office and on a job site, he bills the company XYK Corp for 3 hours of labor and 3 drill bits, this is automatically sent to the head office – it is printed and mailed out to the company, as well the inventory system for XYK Corp (Building 3) is deducted and a warning is sent to the Managment that they are running low.
We suspect that this will have to be custom made software (ideas on who if this is our chance) and if not maybe someone has an idea already!!

Usually companies hire programers to create a custom CMS system that suits their specific needs, however there are 3rd party softwares that you can implement, but you really would still need a programmer and designer to get it in good working order and how you want it.
I know of a couple of great companies (one is a friend of mine) who you can request a quote on, however implenting something like this can be costly, so figure out what your budget is and let them know so they can come up w/ a solution that fits with in your budget.
Feel free to contact me if you would like to refer you to these companies. One of them I worked at out of college, and the other is a friend who runs his own business. Also actually my web host provider does this type of programing as well. Be glad to refer!
