Question by : How do listed companies in China pay dividend while the cash are not freely convertible?
Please correct me if I am wrong or they are of separate concepts.
The Chinese currency Renmenbi are not freely convertible in the international forex market. If I purchase a Hong Kong listed / ADR of the listed company based in Mainland china, do I expect it to pay dividend as the cash should not be freely transferred out of China?
I would appreciate if you may quote the source, links etc. Thanks

Question by : Where can I find a list of reputable companies to sponsor my small business?
I own a sports company, in search of financial sponsorships in order to pay for the advertising it takes to run my company
Best answer:
Answer by Lynn Bodoni
Why would a company want to sponsor your business, rather than support itself? Businesses don’t generally sponsor other businesses. Some businesses will sponsor sports TEAMS, in order to advertise, but other businesses? No. There are none that I’m aware of.

Question by Puri: What cruise ship companies hire under 21?
I’m currently 19 and I’m hoping to land a job on a cruise ship but I’m not real sure which companies hire under 21. It’s a bit hard to find companies that list specific requirements for each job, I only know that Disney requires you to be 21 or older. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you’re not from a third world country they won’t hire you. Unless you’re an officer on the ship the working conditions are deplorable.

Question by Eric G: At-Home Customer Service Jobs For Actual Companies?
Hey everyone.
One of my best friend’s parents works at home for roughly $ 10-14 an hour, sitting on the computer. I know in the past she has worked for Sears/GE/Some other store/and now Best Buy I think. Not work at home schemes, but companies I’ve actually heard of. I know she does/has done phone support, where she deals with callers, and I think she may be doing non-phone based support now as well such as Live Chat w/ Representative (like you find on some sites).
How in the heck does she find these jobs?!
and dont say “ask her” because thats obvious.
Ehhhh yeah, no spam please
Best answer:
Answer by Erac Q, or What
Well, you’re asking us. Why not ask her? She has the jobs so apparently she has the BEST ANSWER.
Is there something you’re not telling us? I’m starting to be very afraid of you Eric G … even though our names are very mysteriously close. Is your last name “,or What” by any chance? Maybe we were separated at birth.

Question by Oakleigh: How do the companies get listed in another market after its IPO?
Can anyone kindly help me to understand this? Please!
If a company’s shares are already publicly traded in one market, e.g. London, and then it decides to get listed again in Hong Kong or New York. How does this work?
If a company can list again and again and again, wouldn’t the shareholder’s value get decreased when the new shares are issued?
Thanks!
Also, sometimes I heard a company can list different part of the assets or business divisions to the market. How does this work?
Sorry it might be quite a big question!
Best answer:
Answer by Swing Trading
After two very weak years, most observers expect substantial growth in both the number and volume of IPOs this year. One interesting source of fuel for the market is coming from China, where a few companies have gone public lately and risen sharply on anticipation of rollicking rol·lick·ing
adj.
Carefree and high-spirited; boisterous: a rollicking celebration.

Question by : Should software companies be able to send automatic updates to your computer without your knowledge?
Why or Why not?
Best answer:
Answer by Colinc
No. And nothing can be SENT to your machine. For any such update to work your machine has to go to the correct website and ask if any are available and then ask to download them. For most such installs you would be asked if you want to allow the program to access the machine under the secure message window. If anything was allowed to be SENT to the machine it would leave the machine wide open to attack from anyone who wanted to.

Question by pea in a pod: How can I start freelancing for companies?
I’m a Communications student and pursuing a PR Certification (only 2 classes left), I’m also minoring in Marketing.
I worked for a company as a Business Communications intern for awhile, I was wondering how could I start freelancing for companies in terms of writing for them, designing or anything they need. Any suggestions? I’m not in it for the money precisely, it’s about gaining some sort of experience.

You need to join several temp agencies in your field for temp or freelance jobs. I used Aquent, The Creative Group, Spherion, Rose International and many others.
