What is the best method for finding a job in another city?

Question by Erin H: What is the best method for finding a job in another city?
I am moving to Albuquerque, NM, in 6 weeks and would definitely like to have a job lined up and ready to begin as soon as I arrive. I’ve been going through the internet job sites (Monster, Career Builder, etc.) but of course all the postings need to be filled sooner that my 6 week time frame. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am in the customer service/ retail field.

Answer by Larry Capinga
I’m guessing you’re not Panamanian, or you would be looking somewhere else. If you have your work permit in order it shouldn’t be a problem. Most hotels will consider hiring you as long as you speak Spanish and English and your permits are in order.

If you don’t have your permits in order, I’m sad to say that you might have a tough time getting a job. Maybe you can get lucky and they sponsor your visa/permit for you to work with them, but that’s a whole other thing.

I want to start my own business my office will be in one city all the business will be done in another city? I?

Question by Iran: I want to start my own business my office will be in one city all the business will be done in another city? I?
I am not sure if I need a license for each city or if one would work? I live in DesMoines WA and all the business would be done in Tukwila, Burien WA. The office would be in DesMoines and it would be an in home office.

Best answer:

Answer by Darwin
The criteria for where to license your business, is where will your customers patronize your business. If they are coming to your home office, You may need approval of your city fathers to operate a business from home. The other home business requirement is how many employees will work at your home office. Here in Portland, Oregon, you can have up to two employees work in a home based business before you need a license.

If there are no customers and no employees at home, license in Tukwila/Burien.

Dragnet: Helen Corday / Red Light Bandit / City Hall Bombing

Dragnet is a radio and television crime drama about the cases of a dedicated Los Angeles police detective, Sergeant Joe Friday, and his partners. The show takes its name from an actual police term, a “dragnet”, meaning a system of coordinated measures for apprehending criminals or suspects. Dragnet debuted inauspiciously. The first several months were bumpy, as Webb and company worked out the program’s format and eventually became comfortable with their characters (Friday was originally portrayed as more brash and forceful than his later usually relaxed demeanor). Gradually, Friday’s deadpan, fast-talking persona emerged, described by John Dunning as “a cop’s cop, tough but not hard, conservative but caring.” (Dunning, 210) Friday’s first partner was Sergeant Ben Romero, portrayed by Barton Yarborough, a longtime radio actor. After Yarborough’s death in 1951 (and therefore Romero’s, who also died of a heart attack, as acknowledged on the December 27, 1951 episode “The Big Sorrow”), Friday was partnered with Sergeant Ed Jacobs (December 27, 1951 – April 10, 1952, subsequently transferred to the Police Academy as an instructor), played by Barney Phillips; Officer Bill Lockwood (Ben Romero’s nephew, April 17, 1952 – May 8, 1952), played by Martin Milner (with Ken Peters taking the role for the June 12, 1952 episode “The Big Donation”); and finally Frank Smith, played first by Herb Ellis (1952), then Ben Alexander (September 21, 1952-1959). Raymond Burr was on board to play
