Are there any good customer service or telemarketing jobs in Chicago?

Question by sandrs: Are there any good customer service or telemarketing jobs in Chicago?

Best answer:

Answer by Andrew P
Depends on what, exactly, you want to do. I know Comcast has a call center in the Chicago area, although not sure where exactly. Hewitt Associates hires a ton of people for their benefits call centers (answering questions from clients’ employees about their benefits). I’m sure there are plenty of telemarketers in the area as well.

A good bet would be to start searching job boards (jobs.com, monster.com, etc) and local listings (Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times, etc). Another good source would be a staffing agency like Randstad, Kelly, and Manpower.

Can anyone show me a list of insurance companies with a home office in downtown Chicago?

Question by KatGuy: Can anyone show me a list of insurance companies with a home office in downtown Chicago?
I’m looking for the major insurance companies in downtown Chicago (not branch offices either, their home office, and not in a suburb, it has to be downtown). They can do any type of insurance too: auto, health, life, disability, etc.

Answer by mbrcatz17
I don’t know of ANY that have a “HOME” office in Chicago. Sorry, you’ll have to get your yellow pages out, look up the companies, and go to each website to verify where their HOME office is.

Many of them will be out of the US.

How can i get a Accountant job in Chicago?

Question by Chinnu: How can i get a Accountant job in Chicago?
Hi All,

I did my MBA( Finance) and Bachelor of commerce( B.com)from an Indian University, and worked for a US based Financial Services (BPO)firm for two years as a Research Analyst in India, also have some experience in financial Management and have strong Academic background. Now I am in US and searching for a job? Which career should I take up weather in Finance or in accounting?

I am finding bit difficulty in getting a job in Finance, with my experience, so I started trying in Accounting Jobs, is it a right decision? Can anyone please tell me which job will suits me best? And what is the right way to approach the employers?

Any thoughts , ideas, recommendations tremendously appreciated.

Best answer:

Answer by Dom
Do you know accounting? If you take accounting then you will know finance. If you take finance then you will NOT know accounting. So employers in accounting are going to see if you have an accounting degree most and experience. Financial jobs will take any Economics, Finance, or Accounting degree so I am guessing that you will have to stick with financial jobs.

It is tough out there but what I did was post my resume to every job finder website out there. Use craigslist. Get the addresses of companies that you want to work for and either go in there with your resume or fax it. Look at the postings for financial jobs with the government.

Q&A: What are good companies in the Chicago area to work for?

Question by chicagoanswerer: What are good companies in the Chicago area to work for?
I will be graduating with a degree in Organizational Communications in November, three more classes to go. I am wondering if you all could tell me some good companies based in the Chicago area I migth like to work for? I’m in the west suburbs, ie. Oak Brook, Naperville, Lisle area. My main concern is finding a company who cares for employees and treats them right. I work hard, am reliable, and am loyal and would like a company who appreciates that and rewards employees for it. My friend works for Met Life, they promote from within, reward people for going above and beyond, offer good vacation time and benefits, have lots of outings and events for employees. My main thing when looking for an employer is a company who treats employees well, that’s even more important to me than salary.

mortgage compaies can not use a BPO or AVM’s. Due to the fact they are not accurate. Stick to selling real estate and I will stick to appraising prop.
