Question by garym: Do you find most staff in call centers thick?
Does anyone have the same problem as me with call centers? It seems that NOBODY ever seems to be able to do their jobs! What I want to know is: Why are people not given an aptitude test on application? Surely the stupid ones can get a job in a factory where they’re not responsible for messing up parts of others lives!
kaykay724 – I am really pleasant on the phone. It’s on;t a couple of weeks later you find they haven’t done what you asked of them.

I am looking to move there shortly and am needing a job. I have plenty of experience as an inbound rep and I can’t seem to find any specific info on call centers located in that city.

I am located in Raleigh NC . I am relocating to DC. I also have done call center jobs. There is a company call ACS, which is owned by Xerox. They are in Cary NC and Raleigh NC (green rd). They are looking for 100′s of people. I used to work for them for 2 yrs. They will hire you the same day,no kidding. As long you do not have criminal record and heart beat.. no kidding.. i wish i can find a job in DC like that.. Here is the link : http://www.acs-inc.com/. I’m looking for a call center job in Riverside, CA or maybe an administrative assistant type job. Can you help me to locate the names of some companies that might have openings or would be good to work for. I’m new to the area, and I have tried all the job sites, but I know there are more companies out there that I’m just not seeing on those sites. Help.

I know in Ontario there is a big call center, I think it’s citibank. Try calling a bunch of offices to see if anyones hiring. That’s easier than the classified section.

Im a single mother who is disable so i am unable to leave the home for at this time. I am from nyc currently unemployed and looking to work from home.I am aware there are tons of sites out there that are scams or require a fee. Those are the ones that i am not interested in.Im looking to make money. not spend any.If anyone knows any good legit call center websites or any work at home sites please feel free to share your links with me. please don’t spam i am in desperate need of work because of these hard finical times. thank you for taking time out and helping

If you don’t mind a nationwide virtual call center, then you can work from your house. They have a few requirements like a high speed internet connection (not wireless), a regular phone, and a headset. You can buy one of those at Radio Shack. The pay isn’t great but the more reliable you are, and the more time you’re willing to spend answering calls, the more money you make.

Thousands of call center jobs have gone to India. Chances are that if you call a large corporation, you will be talking with somebody who is sitting in India. Should we boycott those companies to bring those jobs back here?

I think it’s abominable. It deprives American workers of jobs, and increases the profits of these call centers, which exploit and use these countries as a means of virtually slave labour. It should not be allowed

Shared Services is basically the centralization of back end/administrative functions and/or tasks (such as Accounts Payable, Travel expense payments, invoicing etc) either internal within an organization, outsourced to a service provider or a mix of the two. The Shared Service Center (SSC) then views the parent organization as a client/customer within itself.
