Question by cathy: What skills I require to get a Call Center job?
I have done M.com in 2002 and since then I have not been able to be any profession because of some family reason but now I want to do a job . What skills more I should acquire to get a job in a call center.
I am 29 years of age now so will that be a disadvantage. How much salary would I expect as a fresher.

I’m going in to Bell South today to a career event type of thing in which I bring a resume, and two forms of identification. I’ll take various tests, and if I am successful I’ll go to I think the hiring stage. Its at a small business Bell South call center as a sales associate. So would this be a good job to have. They say it pays a healthy salary and has good benefits.

Yes, it is a good company. Bell South is a sister company of AT&T the biggest telecommuniations company in the world. Congratulations!

Question by : Is it diifficult to get a Call Center Job in the Philippines?
My family wants me to be in the Philippines for an extended period of time maybe 2 years. However during that time I would like to work.
A little info on me. I was born in the US, speak perfect English and have a college degree. So I’m wondering if a call center would consider me? If not, would it be difficult to get an ESL job teaching English in the Philippines?

Legally you would not be able to work here as you are a foreigner. Also you might want to find out how much they pay. I think you will be lucky to earn $ 200 US per month.

I am looking for a call center job that I can do at home that doesn’t cost me any money to get hired. I have worked at seasonal call centers before but would like something I can do at home. Any suggestions?

If your looking for at home call center work then you will probably find something..LOL, Its actually one of the easier jobs to get, There is companies like Liveops, B2B,U-Haul and many more that hire at home customer service employess.
Try searching http://www.WorkatHomeCareers.com for call center jobs and you might just find something . Also try http://www.Wahm.com on their message boards. They have folders for the diffrent companies who hire at home call center agents.

I work in a call center and I feel like with a college degree, I should be making more even if it is a call center job.

Call centers are the start of many careers, but at $ 10 an hour it may not seem worthwhile. Apply for other jobs within the company at fast as possible (usually 6 to 12 months) and learn everything about the company, products, etc.
Your college degree will pay off, but not in that environment. Try to look for other jobs especially if you have a mid-week day off and make as much commission as you can to become a star.

The title says it all. It seems to me that finding a call center job or 411 job is the most difficult job to find on the internet. I have searched and searched and have come across too many dead ends. If anybody lives in the Northern Virginia area, or the metro, please let me know where I can find a job like this around this area, I am positive a job like this exist around here, I just need to know where to find it.

I to have been trying to find a 411 call center job around my area here in Central Florida but have had no luck. I use to work at one that was 10 mins down the road from where I live, at the time it was Sprint now known as Century Link. I just called to see if I could get my job back there but they have closed down and so has the other one in Rocky Mountain,NC. There are still some 411 call center jobs in the U.S. but they are very hard to find. The internet doesn’t seem to help me much either when trying to find this type of job. All I know to tell you is to keep searching everywhere you can to try and find one or maybe contact your local workforce center, they can sometimes help find the type of job you’re looking for.
