Has anyone here ever worked in a T-mobile call center?

Question by John S: Has anyone here ever worked in a T-mobile call center?
I just recently got a job at a T-mobile call center. Has anyone ever worked in a t-mobile call center? I am just looking for any advice regarding to working in a t-mobile call center. Which types of tools are used? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks. And by the way I am going to be working in the technical support department.

Best answer:

Answer by Pandas4me
I haven’t worked for T-Mobile but I have worked at a call center and the people you talk to are usually angry & rude to you. You would have a telephone and a computer and that’s about it. It may be technical support, but you usually have a script to follow and you just ask questions and try to figure out what is really wrong. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it may be something you would enjoy.

i work at a call center, is there a way to block the recording?

Question by dave49310: i work at a call center, is there a way to block the recording?
I work at a call center were a bunch of stupid people call in that get lured into memberships with a $ 50 gift card, free gas or cash back. They call me to cancel these memberships. some of them I’d like to tell them stuff that’s not scripted. Is there some hardware that I can put between my headset and the phone that will block the digital recordings, yet lets the customer and I speak?

Best answer:

Answer by Kevin_57
You should do your job the way they have it set up or you will lose it. If you do not like the set up you could quit. And no, nothing between the headset and where you plug it in will alter the equipment they way you would like. Outsourced call centers in foreign countries would be happy to take your place.

introduce them to yoga. sitting in those chairs all day taking calls has got to be frusterating and painful. it helps clear their minds and stretch their bodies. hand out stress balls, allow them to vote on an incense and bring in an instructor for a free weekly lesson before work.

if that doesn’t work hand out gift cards to starbucks.. if you can’t zen you can caffeinate!

Q&A: Phone Interview with Call Center job?

Question by GSP: Phone Interview with Call Center job?
Hey, so I have a phone interview on Monday for a call center job. I don’t have any call experience. Apparently it’s going to be 30 mins. I’m already feeling nervous. What should I expect in the interview? And, what is the best answer to “why are you interested in this job”.

Best answer:

Answer by MavistheMaven
Phone interviews are usually just screening calls to make sure you have the basic skills needed for the job. BUT, for a call center job, they may want to interview you over the phone to see how you come across on the phone, so be aware of that. Speak clearly, use a friendly tone, and use your voice to convey an impression of reassurance and capability. I don’t mean you should fake anything, but try not to let your voice get all high and fast from nervousness.

You don’t say what kind of call center it is, so it’s hard to know what they’ll ask you. Is it a sales call center, a tech support call center, or what?

Why DO you want to work there? I’m guessing you’d probably be willing to work anywhere that pays, but why would you prefer working at a call center to working at McDonald’s or in a mall store or driving a garbage truck? Maybe you like people and would enjoy talking with them all day. Maybe working in an office environment is a big deal to you. Or you want to use your tech support skills, or your friend works there are has good things to say about it.

Chances are, you won’t have to talk for the entire 30 minutes. They will probably spend some time telling you about the job and the company. Have a couple of questions ready to ask them, to show you’re interested.

Can you get a stay at home job from a call center?

Question by King: Can you get a stay at home job from a call center?
The call center I want to work for usually has there employees work in there building.the work seems like something I can do from home .is it typically possible to be able to work from home for a company that usually employs people in an office?who do I ask about everything?

Best answer:

Answer by Pal
You would need to be able to connect to their phone system and that would be prohibitively expensive. Quite possibly there would not even be sufficient band width in a residential area to install that kind of high capacity phones.

Where can I get info on Call Center salaries in the Philippines?

Question by michael_lovin: Where can I get info on Call Center salaries in the Philippines?
( I am an American living in Cebu and might accept a job at a Call Center, if the salary is ok) by the way…. I am college educated and have 30+ years work experience…so I’m not a beginner)
Based on some of your answers..I need to add some details. My title would be Language Trainer ( the only person at this company in Cebu who has that job, not a rep.

Best answer:

Answer by ANJO E
Data on salaries are not easilly accessible as it has become a point of comparison for most most call centers in Cebu. It is also negotiable based on experience and since you’re a native speaker, that would be your biggest advantage.

Better yet, submit application online and negotiate salary when you get to the interview phase.

Good Luck!

P.S. How about be an ESL Instructor?

How can i get a job at a call center?

Question by rafa3l09: How can i get a job at a call center?
im trying to get a job at a call center and i have no experience in call centers which alot of them ask for. i also dont have a resume i only have worked at a fabric warehouse

Best answer:

Answer by XAVIER
A lot of call centers ask for experience, but don’t be discouraged by that. A lot of employers in any profession will list the qualifications of the *ideal* candidate, but the person they hire doesn’t necessary fill that whole list.
You can still write a resume including the work experience at the fabric warehouse, references, education history, and a list of your skills/strengths. Provide a short bio about yourself and state *why* you want the job. (Hint: Not “because I need money.” Even if that is the reason, try to find a better-sounding one.)
Check out www.resume-resource.com for tips on writing a resume/cover letter. The goal is to get to an interview. From there, it’s all about you and your personality. If you can establish a connection in an interview, an employer will be willing to take a chance on you, with or without experience.

Please heck no! I don’t want to be a call center agent! It’s like EW! I’d rather put my own business and make it grow. That’s all.
