I have a BS in Criminal justice and there are little to no entry level jobs in that area…especially b/c i have no experience.
It seems im going to just have to work at a bank or as a customer service rep.. =( Who else is going through a similar situation.??
Jason, your probably right..but from what i see every entry level job for criminal justice requires some type of experience be it internship..which i never did.

I have my BS in wildlife biology. I use my degree in the summer working outdoors, but I can’t find anything permanent right now so I also work retail. yuck.

What are some good, successful career choices that consist of traveling (not only to states)? Type of business, banking, agents, anything!? What type of career do you know that is a good career choice that allows you to go over seas and such. Anything in particular?

Here in Las Vegas, they encourage people to go into the Airline industry or become travel agents. There are some business sales jobs that need you to travel overseas.

I have a BA in Communication and have spent 2 years in sales/customer service. I am willing to move anywhere in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri or Wisconsin. I’d love to find a state job or an organization that offers a pension for long-term commitment, but can never seem to find anything. I don’t really care what I do, but I learn quick and work hard. Does anybody know of an opportunity that might be available to people willing to relocate?

Your guess is as good as mine. You do know the USA is having another great depression right now, don’t you? That is why I dread having to go back there. The only reason I ever go back there is because my parents are there, and as a single, unemployed girl, I have to keep going back and living them when I am jobless.
I mean, I hear these days of how now McDonald’s can even have their pick of applicants. Before, most people would not even try to work there, but now, places like Taco Bell get tons of applicants for 1 or 2 openings. Good luck to both of us. I say you should open up to the idea of even leaving the USA.

Alright so im going to universal trchnical institute to help me jump into my career as an automotive technician…I have VERY little experiece. I currently work at a call center making a decent paycheck. Firestone offered me a job as an entry level tech and I dont know if I should take it or not. I will be paid on flag time and I will take a pay cut going there. But my question is, would this be an ok job to start my career off?

I think it’s a great place to start and get some solid experience. You don’t have to stay there very long, maybe 2 years or so unless you really like it. If you can still afford your bills with a pay cut, then take the job. Good luck!

You can go for BPO sector where more number of companies are concentrating in recruting IT Professionals. U can enhance ur talent to the extent there.. but it depends on the BPO company that u join. though the dollar depreciatrs the bpo sector will not go down because now the bpo companies are concentrating on EURO which is more powerfull than dollar. so try it dude… mail me for more info

Few months of gap between the Jobs can be explained but not working after your degree for 3 years requires some convincing explanation.
Did you do any business at home or does your family has some business in which you contributed something. Many people start their own business or go to college so that they can come back and take care of family business. Once they think that their family business can be taken care by someone else they can go back and get new experiences.
Have you ever worked? If not you may have to compromise and take a job with a BPO or in sales at the junior level. Once you have job its easier to claim you were doing additional things more relevant to what you want to do than what you are actually doing. Just make sure you have all the answers related to that.
