How do I sell my business improvement services to businesses?

Question by vb6user: How do I sell my business improvement services to businesses?
I can offer businesses office/workflow improvements. I can analyze the current way they do things and recommend better, faster, cheaper ways of doing things. I am a Systems Analyst with software development skills to aid if necessary. It may be just recommending they use a certiain piece of software, hardware, or designing it myself. #1 How do I sell this to them? Get my foot in the door? #2. How would I charge for this? By the hour? By the project? How do I hook them? Do I give them a free estimate? I am unsure how to approach this. Any help would be greatly apprecieated!

first of find a niche for yourself, are you good in marketing, manufacturing, production or office administration. Knowing that, if you are a single propriety business think what you want to target, is it the big business, medium scale industry or the small business. The medium to small businesses are the ones that are a plenty since they are sometimes too small for the major players( like Oracle, SAP and such) so there is a big market out there for it. Next thing you have to do is organise your network, talk with people you know like your father’s business contacts or your former collegues or supliers. They are the best source of clients from a networking perspective. One you got this things settled what you now need is a way of advertising yourself and your business. Send out fliers or email companies you think might need your services. Offer your services to government institutions and such. Lastly, categorise your pricing based on the number of hours you will need to perform them, usually an hourly rate is good but some would like packaged deals/rates that will include all the deliverables and after service help. you should always factor in after service for anything you have developed for them as well as an annual maintenance fee for anything you have done or developed so that you will have a return business.
It usually begins with your first client and word of mouth if you are in a marketing budget. Remember to keep your overhead at a minimum. Also use what ever internet resourses you can get for your marketing and selling needs.
hope this helps.

Why the customer services in Bank of America are the worst than any other businesses?

Question by customerservices07: Why the customer services in Bank of America are the worst than any other businesses?
I have banking with Bank of America for a long time and one time, I had a problem and the customer services were very unhelpful, rude and prejudice. The score for the customer services is -5 (minus 5) from scale of 1 to 10.
What I mean is that they are very rude people including the manager. They don’t value nor care about their customers. Why? Because they are the biggest bank in America. That’s why, they are not afraid of losing customers regardless of the WORST customer services EVER. I never heard of bank of America got any award for customer services. What I don’t understand is the people who work for bank of America. If they don’t like customers, why they have jobs that deal with customers. That doesn’t make sense at all.
Why Bank of America hire such people to work for them? That will destroy their reputation and eventually their business. That’s just plain stupid.

I have been scammed plenty of time and I don’t want to loose any more money. I don’t have money to invest in a business. That’s why I am only looking for a job. I have tried ameriplan that was horrible because you have to have money to invest.I also tried data entry stuff but those were scams. All I want is something legit. Q&A: Explain why ‘cloud-based’ software is beginning to affect the traditional software businesses. How do you t?

Question by Jay: Explain why ‘cloud-based’ software is beginning to affect the traditional software businesses. How do you t?
2) Explain why ‘cloud-based’ software is beginning to affect the traditional software businesses. How do you think that software producers might respond?
Best answer:
Answer by Ryan
I’ve been developing software for 8 years now. Cloud-based software, or services rather, are a growing trend because they allow businesses to consolidate / over-commit resources or make particular IT tasks redundant.
Software producers can either sink or they can swim. Many companies do not like the idea of cloud-based solutions from a security and accountability perspective depending on the service and refuse to use them. Others see it as an opportunity to reduce costs and increase services. For example, see Microsoft Office 365 services online (or Google Apps). You can host Exchange yourself but then you’ll either need on-staff IT, servers on-site or at a co-location, you’d have to pay for power, etc. Cloud-based service worries about all of this for you and only costs you a fraction. There is a breaking-point, of course, in terms of manageability and cost as well.
Things to consider for cloud-based services are:
-Accountability of data on the cloud-based service
-Redundancy of service
-Liability of service and data
-Cost of service
-Manageability (is the service customizable? Do you control it? etc)
-Does it fit with the long-term goals of the business
Cloud-based services are a great way for individuals to license software (See O365), backup data (see onlinefilefolder.com, Acronis online backup, etc.). Virtual Machines and Virtual Servers have been a part of web-hosting solutions for years because they allow companies to commit all of their resources and save money on hardware, software licensing, power and administration. In turn it allows the consumer to do more with less.
Cloud-based computing and services will be a huge multi-billion dollar industry (it already is). It’s the direction we’re headed in whether people like it or not. Compare the paper book publishers with eBook mogul Amazon. eBooks are here to stay and paper-based publishers are going out of business. It’s not sad, it’s just life.

What types of small / medium size businesses require custom software development?

Question by Olga S: What types of small / medium size businesses require custom software development?
I personally heard of a bakery, a roofing company (about 50 people). What other kinds might need it?
Best answer:
Answer by Sandy G
Just about all of them. Even a pretty standard business that can buy a popular package will need some customization. I know my dentist’s software needed considerable tweaking, especially since it printed prescriptions with the patient’s social security number in plain sight.

No, they do not. They are very racist and hateful people. I will never bank with Big Banks ever again.
I currently have a lawsuit pending against them. One bank branch manager told me “Well, you’re Black and if you live here in this rural area you should expect to be treated with Racism or move out”.
Where I live there are mostly bigot filth trash and Bank of America is no different. I hate them with a passion.
