Yes it is, and quite enjoyable in this season.
You can’t take the express way though, two wheelers are not allowed there, but you can go by the old bombay-pune road.

I’m planning to ride to Shirdi from Pune on my 4-speed Royal Enfield Electra. The longest I’ve done before is 4 hours from Shimla to Chandigarh. But then Himachal has good roads with little crime. Is it safe to ride to Shirdi if I’m planning to arrive by 10:30 p.m? Are the roads okay and will I end up getting mugged because I’m going it alone? Also how long will it take and what’s the distance?

The condition of the roads on the highway is good — till it reaches Shirdi. But throughout your journey by road drive cautiously no matter how confident a driver you may be.This is because, there are several long distance buses, transport trucks, and more dangerously private taxis (Sumo and Qualis) driving at breakneck speed, flouting every single traffic, and safety rules.
Yes it is safe on the roads and muggings are not heard of. The drive through Ahmednagar is picturesque so do try it in the daytime.
The total distance from Pune to Shirdi is about 205 to 210 kms.
Pune to Ahmednagar: 120 kms
Ahmednagar to Shirdi: 85 kms

What are the costs and procedures involved in importing a used sports bike to India?

I am interested in bying a sports bike in India (400+ cc). But, since the used sports bike market is still not hot, I plan to buy it in another country and import it to India. My main questions thus boil down to:
1. Which is the courty I need to buy my bike from (cheap in terms of import costs and good quality of bike)
2. What are the costs involved in importing a bike to India
3. What are the procedures involved?
4. I have heard that there are some importers who make this transaction more cheap. Can you help me contacting some?
5. Is there a site where I can see the used bikes on sale in INDIA?
6. Is there a dealer whom I can contact to buy or import bike?

Hi guyss.. I am buying a bike in chandigarh but will move to pune after may be one year.. I heard vehicle regstration might be a problem if its from diff state… Traffic police will stop us too many time.. Is it true?? what should i do???? Is there any way we can change the registration details after we move to another state????
