Question by Jess: How do I start a home based business?
I am currently doing payroll and human resources for a company and have been thinking about starting my own payroll consulting business from home. I already know the software I would like to buy and is pretty afordable considering that will be the huge chuck of my business. Just wondering on everyones thoughts as to companies that would be interested in this. I currently live and work in the state of Montana, but would be able to do payroll for multiple states with the software I am looking at. Any opinions or leads would be helpful.

I’m a 31 year old guy. I tend to work customer service jobs here and there to get a check. I graduated from college (10 years ago)and can for the most part figure out certain things. The problem is that once I get on the job I can’t figure out concepts in training. And then when I start to take calls, I cannot figure out how to solve the problems. I can’t even figure out the scenario they are describing. And then i really can’t figure out how to help them or how to apply my training to the situation. Even foks that have their G.E.D. can manage their way through these situations but I cannot. BUT, the part I like the most is talking to people. I think I have a way with people. My supervisors say I am friendly and they try to keep me around because they say I am polite to customers and use friendly language (I don’t cuss!). I also try to be super thorough and honest while helping them. I also show up to work everyday and on time. What is wrong with me?

iT SOUNDS AS THOUGHT MAYBE YOU PANIC OR GET FLUSTERED IN A SITUATION OF HANDLEING SOMEONE ELSES PROBLEMS…I am 23 and have always had customer svc related position and love talking to people,but yet I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks….walking into stores and seeing people bothers me but yet I am fine talking 1 on 1 with people???
Maybe while your in training from now on start taking lots and lots of notes, to better prepare yourself….if you need help,ask question in training.This will help you out later on. Normally,I learn more with on the job training and not classroom experience, and it does take time…maybe your the same way????You leave training feeling as though you “know what your doing” but then get there and you go blank???I do this also. When you start a new job,dont hesitate to ask for help from co workers,bosses or whomever seems friendly and helpful… the biggest piece of advice I have ever recieved was that.. you dont know untill you ask….

Google data entry online job scam.
Days and days worth of reading.
Some very smart people have figured out that others will believe anything and pay upfront for a job that does not pay in return.
CNN reported that these sites are more than 99% scams.
They could not verify the other 1%.
Good luck beating these odds.

I am a Technical Support Representative in one of the call centers here in the Philippines. And I want to stay at home to be able to take care of my kids. I’ve been constantly searching in the internet about home based jobs and I really can’t find one for Filipinos. Please help.

I don’t think this is an issue of nationality. Call centers are efficient when people are sitting, logged into the system, answering calls. Generally that means in a call center. Occasionally, an employer will allow you to work in a “virtual” call center, logged into the system remotely and taking calls remotely. But, no employer is going to let you work from home when your stated purpose is to take care of your kids.

I would say that the leader in on-demand CRM is still Salesforce.com, however there are other companies that sometimes provide even better services for less money, for example SugarCRM. As for project management, there is no clear leader. I would say there’s a tough competition between Basecamp, Wrike, Goplan and Attask. I personally chose Wrike.com for their great feature set and low price, my team says I was right to pick this service.
If you need a good invoice SaaS, I’d say it would be Freshbooks.
Anyway it all depends upon the needs of the company and the budget
