Question by MorningStar: What are the best employers in the Dallas, TX area? How is the job market?
I have a degree in global management and comm; my background employment/experience includes customer service, but more recently the focus has been 2yr colleges and 4-yr universities. I am not utilizing my degree in the position I have now but would like to find a job requiring a Bachelor’s. We are planning to move to Dallas towards the end of this year, granted the job market is good.

I feel bad that no one has answered this yet. I wish so bad that I could help you. If no one answers you aside from me you may try putting this question in the Dallas category under Local Businesses. It’s easy to get to. Simply click on the ‘Local Businesses’ category. Then find the United States and click on it. Then select ‘Dallas’. People who have the answers you need may check that category regularly and more often than this category. Congratulations on moving to Dallas. I have been all over the country and Dallas is my favorite city. It is so interesting and I love the people. And since I am, so far, no help in this question, I will give you my personal opinion on the best towns to live. You will definitely need to pick a town close to where you work as high as gas prices are now for one thing. But, most any suburb in the north are great. I recommend Frisco, Flower Mound, Grapevine, Lewisville, Richardson, Plano, any one of these are good. Irving is in the east Dallas area and I have always liked that area but people on Yahoo! Answers give it mixed reviews. Almost all of the towns in the northern part of Dallas are family oriented communities with fairly low crime rates. I will also advise you that I have heard that Arlington in West Dallas has a very high crime rate and the person said they did not recommend living there. They were saying that they lived there and couldn’t afford to move to another close town at the moment but that when they could, they were gone. Also, this is some tourist-y stuff you might like to know. Dallas has more shopping per capita than any other city in the United States. So shopping is a must. There are tons of malls, stores, and boutiques in Dallas. The malls that I recommend to you are (in order of best to 4th Best): The Galleria (Dallas), Stonebriar Centre (Frisco), Northpark Mall (Dallas), and Grapevine Mills Mall (Grapevine). I also recommend all of the stage theaters and art galleries/museums. As far as historical sites, you must see the 6th Floor Museum, the Conspiracy Museum, and The Dallas Holocaust Museum. I might also suggest that you check out the Mustangs of Las Colinas and the Las Colinas Movie Studio (very interesting). I recommend that you buy this book: Dallas & Fort Worth: A Pictorial Celebration (ISBN: 9781402725616). You could also get an interlibrary loan on it if you didn’t want to buy it. You can do that at your local library. Hope this Helps even though it doesn’t answer your particular question! God Bless!*

Hi Stacy,
Try alpineaccess.com, west.com and liveopps.com; all are work at home jobs and all you need is a PC and the skills. Alpineaccess.com has many work at home CSR jobs that would normally be in a call center; these would be all inbound calls, no outbound and no sales or telemarketing.
A girl I work with does these jobs on the weekends and you can make a decent, living wage w/o leaving your house. Also you can work longer hours and late into the night if you want; after all, you’ll be at home.

Not sure by your question if you are looking for something to make extra income but you can work with Avon, which I have done for the past 2 years. I do it full time and take care a family which includes 3 kids. So if I could do it so can you.
Avon is only $ 10 to get started and your commission percentage is 50%. You can now sign yourself up online so if you are interested just go to www.sellingavoniseasy.com to get yourself started.
Good Luck!!

If you don’t mind a nationwide virtual call center, then you can work from your house. They have a few requirements like a high speed internet connection (not wireless), a regular phone, and a headset. You can buy one of those at Radio Shack. The pay isn’t great but the more reliable you are, and the more time you’re willing to spend answering calls, the more money you make.

West Corporation: http://www.west.com/
And more: http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/jobs/a/cust_ser_jobs.htm?terms=from+home+job+telemarketing+work
There’s others but at least this is two to start with.
This is what I was going to do while going to college but I ended up getting work at the school through a work-study program.
I did a quick search and came up with this too:

I am not sure about customer service jobs from home in New York. I’m on the west coast and have found that they are hard to find!
If you’re interested in a business opportunity that allows you to work from home and work your own hours I have a website I can send you to. Unfortunately, because I have given this URL more than twice, Yahoo is restricting me from giving it again.
If you want more details, please email me.
Good luck.

Q&A: How easy is it to get a temporary clerical or customer service job in the Newark, DE area?

Question by mrs_squier81906: How easy is it to get a temporary clerical or customer service job in the Newark, DE area?
I’m moving to the area in 2 weeks and can’t do a long-distance job search (I live 2 hours away and work insane hours). My husband of 1 week is a student at the University of Delaware and had an apartment in the college’s family housing practically thrown at him today. He jumped on it, so SURPRISE I’m moving to Newark on the 8th! Not a bad thing (we live near Dover DE, one of the most boring places on the planet and horrible to find a decent job in) so I’m glad to get out.
I’m currently working as a department manager in a warehouse store so I have a lot of CS experience. I also have a lot of computer skills. I want to know how long to expect before getting an assignment through one of the temp agencies. I have a solid work history and I’m no slouch either. I can afford to be out of work for a month or 2 but still, I go crazy without work!

Well I grew up in Newark, DE but haven’t been there for awhile….although I hear the jobs are plentiful. Unfortunatly most companies go through temp. agencies to hire thier employees so I suggest you start there. I’m sure you will have no trouble getting a job in that area. By the way, I grew up on Cleveland Ave. which is right downtown. Its changed a lot since I was a kid but its still a pretty neat place to live. Good luck and God Bless
