What are the good financial analyst companies?

Question by sumane81: What are the good financial analyst companies?
I am looking for financial analyst companies those predicts share market values for different companies before company’s actual report begin out…

Answer by HJ Bear
There are a dozen big companies and hundreds of small firms. Often, these days, the most accurate stock pickers work at smaller boutiques. It is hard to generalize. A company called Starmine rates the analyst’s accuracy for the most commonly traded securities.

You can look up the consensus estimates, which represents the average of all analysts.

How to change my career as a software engineer to a business analyst?

Question by confused!!: How to change my career as a software engineer to a business analyst?
hi, I completed my engineering in electrical and electronics last year and then i joined a telecom company as a tester. Only then did I realize that I was not interested in this field. I have heard about Business Analysts and it sounds interesting. I would like to know what I should do to become a business analyst and a little more info on this field. Please advice.

Best answer:

Answer by DaveInSeoul
It actually IS an interesting career field. You don’t have to be a ‘business analyst’ to do the things that this field requires. These jobs are also known as System Analysts, Operations Analysts, etc. What they all have in common is they are known as ‘translator’ jobs. The job of a good analyst is to work with the subject matter experts in an area of business and work with them to figure out what parts of their job can be automated, then define the ‘rule sets’ of the job to the point where the software engineers can then program the software needed to do the job. This can and often does include defining input UIs, database tables and fields needed, and the output reports generated by the application.

It is a fairly senior position, and you already have a good start being a software engineer. But now you need to focus more on learning the ‘business side’ of what your business does. I work with many subject matter experts in a ‘systems analyst’ capacity, even though I am the development manager, because often I am the one that has to make sure the requirements are clear enough for our developers to code.

You can work your way into the job in your current position by ‘volunteering’ to work with users on refining requirements. You can also get certified as a certified business analyst professional (CBAP) by attending classes and/or purchasing books that help you become a better analyst and prepare you for the CBAP exam (just google CBAP). After you have your CBAP and are not satisfied with your current position, you should be able to use your software engineering experience and your CBAP to land an entry-level business analyst position. The rest, as they say, is up to you.

Hope this helps.

To be honest, you are probably not going to find a job working from home. Any opportunities you find that requires a start up fee or money up front is a scam, don’t get sucked in!!

I encourage you to immediately put these jobs out of your mind. Here are some of my tips when looking for a job….

Networking – Register at your local Unemployment Office (you don’t need to be on unemployment to register for their assistance). They often will have networking groups on a regular basis. They also are a good source for the jobs that never show up in the paper or online.

Check your local paper — In many cases the paper’s classified are now online.

Search Smart Online — If you don’t have a lot of time, spend most of your time at sites that aggregate the job feeds from several job search engines. Prominently these include indeed.com and thingamajob.com.

Organization — I use a free online application that allows you to track your ads, jobs you apply for, send or print mail merged correspondence, and track your job search history. This site is jobsearchlog.com
I invite you to check it out and you’ll be able to keep track of what you apply for.

Good Luck,

Karen

The company I am interviewing with is T. Rowe Price, a large financial company located in MD and the position is for an entry-mid business analyst. What salary should I ask for?
I have 3 years of business analyst experience, gathering requirements.

Best answer:

Answer by steve_sider98
How much actual experience do you have in biz analysis? That would be the driving factor.

You don’t want to price yourself out of a job by asking for more that you’re worth. But, no sense in leaving money on the table.

Do this:

1) Go to salary.com and see what the high, low, and median salaries are for BAs in your area.

2) Go to monster.com and careerbuilder.com and check out similar jobs and see what they are paying. In some cases, they will advertise the salary range.

3) During the interview, see if they will give you the salary “range.” Then, when they ask you, you what you want, you will be armed with enough business intel to make the right call.

List five companies that most closely mirror this company’s (Brickwork Executive Research Analyst) capability?

Question by Needle in the haystack: List five companies that most closely mirror this company’s (Brickwork Executive Research Analyst) capability?
I am looking for a company that has the same capability as the one listed here http://www.b2kcorp.com/. One that not only has the BPO capabilities, but also has the Remote Executive Assistant capability.

Different then a strict Outsourcing Company, B2K offers front end research, presentation & spreadsheet analysis AND depending on complexity can be delivered overnight.

If multiple competitors are out there one with experience with the Energy Industry specifically the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) industry would be a HUGE bonus.

Logistically it would help if the company was located in India, but China or any cost competitive labor market would be considered.
