A quick track I’ve made while travelling using the amazing Propellerhead Figure on iPhone 4. Here is the result with a little bit of tweaking. Got three minutes and want to make some music? Figure is the fun music-making app for instant inspiration. Figure highlights Make songs with Drums, Bass and Lead Synth Play by sliding your finger across the play pad Always stay in key and on the beat No previous playing skills required Tweak and twist your track on the fly Sounding amazing has never been this easy The sound of Reason on your phone! Swedish firm Propellerhead Software is one of the key companies in the history of electronic music-making, having been responsible for software like ReBirth — which emulated Roland’s famous 303 synthesizer and 808 and 909 drum machines — and studio package Reason. Now it’s making apps. Starting with an iOS version of ReBirth in May 2010, and now with an entirely new app called Figure. Propellerhead’s Figure music app is awesome, easy to use and cheap. And since Reason is the one and only software I use for my music (www.manolismoumouzias.com), I was more than happy when Figure (Powered by Reason) came out. It’s a Reason for mobile phone! Michelle Obama Speeches: Military Families, Women’s Day, Bullying Prevention, West Point (2011)

The United States Military Academy at West Point (also known as USMA, West Point, Army, The Academy or simply The Point) is a four-year coeducational federal service academy located in West Point, New York. The academy sits on scenic high ground overlooking the Hudson River, 50 miles (80 km) north of New York City. The entire central campus is a national landmark and home to scores of historic sites, buildings, and monuments. The majority of the campus’s neogothic buildings are constructed from gray and black granite. The campus is a popular tourist destination complete with a large visitor center and the oldest museum in the United States Army. Candidates for admission must both apply directly to the academy and receive a nomination, usually from a Senator or Representative. Students are officers-in-training and are referred to as cadets or collectively as the United States Corps of Cadets (USCC). Tuition for cadets is fully funded by the Army in exchange for an active duty service obligation upon graduation. Approximately 1300 cadets enter the Academy each July with about 1000 cadets graduating. The academic program grants a bachelor of science degree with a curriculum that grades cadets’ performance upon a broad academic program, military leadership performance, and mandatory participation in competitive athletics. Cadets are required to adhere to the Cadet Honor Code, which states that “a cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.” The academy bases a

Walter Isaacson – Steve Jobs 2011 (01/24)

Walter Isaacson – Steve Jobs 2011 Read by Dylan Baker From the author of the best-selling biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein, this is the exclusive biography of Steve Jobs. Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years – as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues – Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing. At a time when America is seeking ways to sustain its innovative edge, and when societies around the world are trying to build digital-age economies, Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness and applied imagination. He knew that the best way to create value in the 21st century was to connect creativity with technology. He built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering. Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off-limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally so, about the people he worked with and competed against. His friends, foes, and colleagues provide an unvarnished

Apple WWDC 2011 Steve Jobs Presentation 6/6/2011

Go to www.technomicon.com for our complete WWDC article. This is the all Steve Jobs part of the World Wide Developer Conference Keynote on Monday June 6, 2011 and includes his opening remarks, iCloud presentation, and closing thoughts. Although Microsoft got the jump on Apple with their personal cloud for Windows users that was announced at last year’s FAM, Apple seems to be poised to provide a cloud service that is better integrated into Apple devices and services. Apple may also have found the killer rationale for the Cloud: it will enable iOS device owners to dispense with their personal computers, at least as far as updating their iOS devices is concerned. iCloud will enable automatic syncing of files, app purchases, music and video purchase on up to 10 devices automatically, without having to connect them to a Mac or PC. Software updates and iOS updates will now stream wirelessly from iCloud. iCloud promises to be another example of thorough and elegant Apple integration.
