Need help with an international cell phone in Hyderabad/Pune India?

Traveling from the USA next week. Is it relatively easy to purchase a cell phone in India that I can use to call back to the states? What are the normal prices of a phone and call charges?

    cell phones.. u wd get all cell phones that u get here for approx same price.. may be cheaper..
