List of businesses/companies in my town by age?

Question by Pinkmunkee: List of businesses/companies in my town by age?
I’m trying to do some fundraising for next year and I would particularly like to approach businesses and companies in my area who have a link to our charity due to it being our 100th anniversary this year. I would therefore like to find out which businesses in my town have celebrated any anniversaries of special amounts this year, preferably by the internet. Any ideas how or what I can google? Have tried businesses age/start/town etc.

Congratulations on your organization’s 100th anniversary.

On such a major occasion, you should be able to receive significant and active support from the government and from your local business community.

Government support depends on the relative size of your charity and the place (country/state/city) where it operates. Please re-post with facts about the relative size of the charity. A large charity will attract the interests of national and state officials; a smaller charity will attract the support of your local officials.

Your local business community will also provide the type of support and information you seek. The chamber of commerce has the precise information that you seek: information about businesses in your town that have celebrated significant anniversaries. Start with the president of your local chamber of commerce.

Hope this helps.
