I am driving from Pune to Ahmedabad, but will only be around Surat by mid night. Hence am searching for a not so exensive option around Surat highway to stay for a night with my family & continue my onwards journey next day morning. Will appreciate if you can share your info or exeriences in this respect.
Even if I go to the station, is it closer from the highway? At mid-night, I will end up searching for hotels

You should go on the site http://www.hotel.16euro.com, write the city
and the period in which you want to go there and press Search. When
did the research put the hotel in order by price or distance from the
center, or what have you … If you have preferences on the left of
the page are some additional options such as parking, pool, sauna,
etc.
I assure you that this is the best site I found and it is good.

is less expensive than lastminute.com, expedia.com and venere.com

Just opp surat railway station plenty of hotels available .No problem as any cities in Gujarat remain vibrant even upto 3 am night such a safe place in Gujarat
