This is a very serious issue. India i think is in a helpless situation. It was recently announced that there were going to be new talks in indo-pak and then BOOM, we go through Pune blasts. Everytime we have talk, india goes through blasts and innocent people are killed. Atal bihari started a bus service from amritsar to lahore, hoping that the relations will improve. And in months kargil happened. then in 2006, train blasts in mumbai. In 2008, 26/11 happened. pakistan wasn’t ready to even accept that ajmal kasab was pak citizen, untill USA forced them by threatning to declare pak a terrorist country. Now we are going to talk again after 26/11 and pune blasts. Now we all know which terrorist organisations are behind these blasts and who are helping them from that side of the border. My question is this, are these talks really going to help? We’ve been talking since last 20 yrs and almost no improvement has happened. I am as a citizen so much frustrated because india is in a helpless situation. We can’t attack or cannot back down. What do we do? According to me these talks are not going to help at all. These attacks will keep on happening. So the solution is to focus on your internal security. Have strict rules. Make strict punishments. Those terrorists who are caught, the cases on them shouldn’t carried on under IPC. We have to make seperate laws for terrorists. Those who are caught and found guilty must be given death punishments. The locals who help them, should undergo the same punishment. We should learn from western countries, how do they tackle their internal security problems. I mean as compared to USA or UK, our police look like 20-30 yrs backwards. We don’t have SWAT, police don’t respond in 3 mins as in USA when u dial 911. Infrastructure is so LAME and BACKWARDS. I read in newspaper the other day that most of the police don’t even have charged batteries in their walkie-talkies. How are we going to stop terrorism? I don’t think they are going to stop coming to india just by talks. They will keep on coming, we have to focus on our internal security. what do you think about this? Also ppl from other countries, what do u think about this?

There’s no other way. Enhancing internal security is one thing, but you gotta engage diplomatically with your arch-rival at one point to reach some sort of a mutual understanding. India and Pakistan can help each other get rid of terrorism and militancy from both their homelands, but they need to trust each other and get rid of bad blood first.
The Pakistani government must get some sort of control back over the ISI, and prevent it from hampering Indo-Pakistan relationships. India, on the other hand, must tackle its fundamentalist elements like the Shiv Sena and engage in constructive high level dialogues with Pakistan.
Only mutual understanding and cooperation can solve the terrorism crisis plauging both the nations in today’s world. Without understand, the fundamentalist and terrorist elements will continue to feed on distrust and miscommunication to spread hate and terror.
