tropical fish should be kept at about 26 degrees (I think)

it depends on the kind of fish you have. if they’re a hardy fish then there’s no need to spend on a heater esp in India. a few cold hours in the night wont kill them. don’t get them used to a heater. on the other hand if you have delicate fish like Discus then i’d suggest you get one.

well if you ask me u live in a pretty warm-hot country, seeing as it does drop down to as low as 2 degrees celicius maybe you should try something different instead of a water heater because really you only want to buy a water heater if its going to need to be kept on most of the day, try putting a warm blanket over the aqaurium, shouldn’t have to fork out money for something ur not using constantly

yes you need a heater. with the weather changing it can shock the fish and could react badly such as getting ill such as getting ich disease or even dying. if you have a heater it will always keep the tank water at a steady temperature.
